It is amazing how Aimee can sing about these things that were painful to her and still have a smile on her face. Reading about her life (suicide attempt, domestic abuse, depression, alcohol problems, etc.) and realizing that some of the videos and live performances that I've watched were shot when she was still suffering severely puts it in a new light. I wonder if she puts that smile on for us (like the performer in Queen's Show Must Go On), or she loved music so much that she was genuinely happy and able to put her problems aside while singing

Being a lifetime rancid fan from back in the day when I heard Tim Armstrong or how it came up in the conversation or you know whatever I got to see and hear them on their first album and to see every album get stronger and tighter it's amazing because this album I think is going to get some awards just saying in my opinion and some of the things that she sings about mean a lot to me is I'm in full on recovery since 2012

She strikes me as the type who truly finds relief in music...but it is a good question. I really do feel like music is her everything and her release, coming from a musician myself. When you inverse yourself in it, that smile can often times be even more genuine then even the writer realizes initially.

My wife's father left when she was 2 months old and never saw her again. It was a tough life of stepfathers, sometimes homeless, sometimes in different states. They weren't all bad, some were. My wife is the person she is today because of the black "wolves" and the white "wolves" that raised her. Her heart has holes, but her teeth are sharper and her skin is tougher. Thank you for the awesome song, and ya'll being bad asses. Keep up the great work

My grandfather was abandoned by his mother. She left him, his little sister and infant brother in a tent with 4 days of rations in the middle of the northern Alberta wilderness, in winter. For three days my grandfather listened as wolves howled around him. He said at first he was scared, because he thought they would eat him and his siblings. But they never did. Then on the third day I guess my great grandmother felt guilty, told a priest, and he recovered the children from the forest. He was later adopted from as an orphan. When my mom asked him about it years later, he refused for forgive my great grandmother when she begged him to, even in exchange for the fortune she made years later after leaving him to die. He said 'Some things is unforgivable.' This song really reminds me of that story.

Aimee, man that chick is a much stronger person than I; I will never forgive my father for walking...well, stumbling drunkenly, out of our lives. Even though he's dead and cremated, I feel as though I will forever harbor the hatred and anger he left in his wake. This song may be therapeutic for some, for me it just makes me wish I could see him one more time so I could punch him in his (expletives deleted) face.

I work in the child welfare field. I've read interviews where Aimee shared glimps of her challenging childhood in Montana and her escape to L.A. It sure adds to the poignancy of her songs like this one. Aimee is not some great fiction writer able to imagine what abuse, neglect, and foster placement might be like. No, the gut-wrenching truth is she is writing NON-FICTION; these songs are chronicling the history that she's overcome. Aimee is laying bare for all of us her memories in these moving songs. It's EXTREMELY POWERFUL to play Aimee's songs while on my break at a juvenile courthouse outside of Chicago where DCFS brings child removal cases. Aimee, thank you for your beautiful art and for having the courage to share your experiences with your fans. You guys have become my FAVORITE BAND. That's no easy feat; you dethroned some ska icons.🙌🏻👏🏻

You got my letter, you read it twice Short breaths, long sighs Might be a liar, might be a drunk But I forgive you for your giving up For your giving up It doesn't matter, my life was shattered And my heart's got holes You left a child out in the wild And I was raised by wolves I was raised by wolves I was raised by wolves We would dig for scraps out in the cold After you left to go and try to find your pot of gold My teeth got sharper, my skin got tough So I forgive you for your giving up For your giving up It doesn't matter, my life was shattered And my heart's got holes You left a child out in the wild And I was raised by wolves I was raised by wolves I was raised by wolves Yeah, when you left and said goodbye Under the moonlight, we had to learn to say alive In the wild You got my letter, you read it twice Short breaths, long sighs Might be a liar, might be a drunk But I forgive you, yeah It doesn't matter, my life was shattered And my heart's got holes You left a child out in the wild And I was raised by wolves I was raised by wolves I was raised by wolves I was raised by wolves I was raised by wolves

I don't think this song is about forgiving. I guess it's rather about some feelings people that have been abandonned got. That is, having to become an adult ; and, for this, being brought forgive your genitors, or you will stay a child your whole life. As I feel it, the happy/catchy tune is a contrast, it's not the topic.

I brought my 11 year old daughter to an Interrupters show at a small venue in 2019. We were on the floor by the stage a few rows back when Aimee spotted her snd crossed over to point and wave at her. It was a small gesture, but showed that this band is all heart. At a point in time when most media personalities/celebrities/rockstars or whatever are venal and bullshit, this band is 1000% legit. I'm rooting for their success as if they were friends I've known my whole life. Epic song. Keep fighting the good fight.

After listening to this album proper, it’s clear that Aimee and the boys have massively improved since their debut, especially in regards to lyrics. They don’t seem to be reliant on their own influences anymore and the fact that their songs are becoming more personal gives the band maturity without a change in sound. I’d say this is their best work.
