I had unfortunate timing with my art degree. Derrida or go home. Discovering Stephen Hicks towards the end of my degree restored my sanity.

I would say the same with regard to understanding how it was that the brain washing I experienced in university had come to pass .Context matters , it always will , the same with Truth ,it exists and always matters.Since I'm here i recommend understanding Immaneul Kant .He is essential to appreciate , or know .

My meme on the change in philosophy: 1776 Jefferson "self evident", 1781 Kant "a priori".

Today, "On truth and lies in the extramoral sense" by Nietzsche seems the turning point that gave us much of what has gone wrong here.

Nietchze can be such a paradox. There were times where, i feel, he tried to ground his ethic in physiological reality, which would be a form of accepting a "truth" outside of the self. But i believe he tried to explore many different paths, and one must stay a dilligent diagnostician in order not to cherry pick from his many ideas. He can be dynamite. @jeffreyscott4997

While postmodernists critique the privilege of knowledge, they simultaneously assert their own framework as authoritative, creating a paradox of denying and asserting power for their own aims. It’s a truly reprehensible philosophy, although you wouldn’t be capable of knowing that if you were a postmodernist.

STEM was that 20% that resisted post modern interpretations. Also this is a primarily US phenomenon.

This is a Western phenomenon including Australia and New Zealand. Postmodernism started in France. It is the US which has spread it because of the huge American influence.

0:46 do you think by any chance you’re classing yourself as the “cool one” and that’s where you find yourself moving. A lot of this is a false narrative tho in terms of putting it up with the worst of postmodernism But increasing wealth inequality leads to increasing corruption leads to propaganda

Sounds like the difference between idealists and authoritarian anarchists or nihilists, from community or social morality to mandated absolutist or dogmatic egoism
