Notice the new smiles, the new energy! That's Adam B's doing!.

Bastien is a high tenor like Austin Brown was but has a style and energy all his own. It's different. Austin is from Georgia hence the southern twang to his voice, Bastien is from Detroit Michigan which has a Midwestern flavor (Rob and Adam Rupp are from a Midwest State, too). Bastien chose this Bonnie Raitt cover to be introduced to the Home Fries.I like the jazzy bluesy sound to this song. Can't wait for what comes next.

Bastien has received quite a warm welcome from probably 98% of the frys. Being a gay man, Bastien leans into that fashion sense. I love it that HF has an entire new and diverse direction to go. Note that the guys all are long time friends with him, and they seem very at ease and happy to have him with them. Not seen them so happy looking for a good while.

That high note you thought was Chance was actually Bastien they were goofing around when making this and Chance did that face and they decided to keep it in. Bastien used to sub for one of the tenors when Home Free first started and he was also a member of Chris Rupp’s group 7th ave.
@Quizzy000020 күн бұрын
are you sure? cause Chance can hit those notes.

Great cover, bringing this Bonnie Raitt classic new life! Bastien was fantastic, the BGVs amazing, Adam’s percussion, just wow as always, and anytime Gospel Rob makes an appearance I’m all in! #HomeFree never disappoints!

He actually filled in for them years ago be Austin joined the group before The Sing Off. So they were already familiar with each other. He would step in whenever they needed him to. This is a cover of a Bonnie Raitt song.

As others have noted, Bastien has renewed enthusiasm and joy into the group. Looking forward to the new sound, and maybe some of Bastiens style and energy will be contagious 😊💕. FYI - he matches the guys height and age - they are all within 3 years of each other.

Bastien is amazing in all his own right! He brings new energy, new joy, and new opportunities to the band. I'm excited for whenever they come back to Europe! I've loved Bastien and his voice since I first heard him in 7thAve, and I wanted to see and hear him live these 8 years. I ADORE Austin and his voice more than words can ever express, and I will miss him tremendously, BUT I, like Austin love change and Home Free needed a change, and so did Austin. Now, I get to hear him solo instead. I get to see him evolve and thrive on his "own". I couldn't be more excited for that. So I'm elated about this change. We get the best of many worlds, in my book. Austin is Austin Brown, check out his solo stuff, both originals and covers. There are SO many gems there. It might not draw the big audience to your channel as Home Free does, but most of us Home Fries will appreciate it, and us Austin's fans will, too. Austin, or course, will as well. He's on the rise as a solo artist already. You have a chance to be at the forefront of his success. This was my first time on your channel. I have subscribed, and I'm excited to see more of your reactions. Perhaps I'll see you at a Home Free concert in the future. Thank you! ❤🙏🥰

Great song choice from way back. Bastien did an excellent job. He and his husband have been singing at Disco and Pride events in the Midwest and New York. They have a great stage presence and a bit out there costumes. I doubt B has the lower range that Austin does, but they’ll adjust. And I’m expecting more pop, like this song, and less of the country / southern gospel vibe that Austin just has in his bones. I heard they finished recording the album. And I’m happy HF is going to keep making music.

Home Free did a great cover of one of my favorite Bonnie Raitt songs. Bastien's voice was perfect for the lead. Everyone sounded awesome in the background vocals, Rob with his bluesy sound, Tim's bass & Adam's vocal percussion. Looking forward to more of the new songs with the newest member.

Kaireem - good to see you! Adam Bastien did a great job didn’t he?! It’s an old Bonnie Raitt song. I hear he’s also a songwriter so that’s cool too. He used to sing with Chris Rupp’s (founder of HF and brother of Adam Rupp) band 7th Ave. when Chris left. He’s a high tenor like Austin. I think it’s a great debut. It was Bastien who was singing that high part and not Chance (I thought it was him too). They were fooling around and Chance mimicked Bastien and they kept it in. Anyway, good one Kaireem! Have a great week!

If you want to hear a range, catch Tim Faust (bass) on some of his own songs. Just search Tim Faust and it will give you a list. His range is over 5 octaves.

Great reaction! You're very familiar with HF, so appreciate that your observations come from a place of knowledge. Have seen various reactions that had issues with B's hairstyle, his moustache, his attire and one 'complaint' that his voice is too pop. Personally, love what he brings to the group. The guys seem to have a renewed energy. B also has a silly side which meshes with HF's sense of humor. Hoping that the addition of his really smooth, soulful tone will have the guys venturing into jazz, blues and 'R&B' (can't go wrong with Rob & Bastien). Curiosity piqued at hearing about a song he wrote for their new album. On a more shallow note, he's similar height and age as the rest of the guys, so...visually...he's also a good fit. (Maybe just me but seems like Rob appears wee bit leaner in this video.) Already itching for another new HF video.

Agree with everything you’ve said. I REALLY like the energy Bastien brings to the group. I’ve even got tickets for their fall tour, and holiday tour. But I don’t care for the haircut, and I think his wardrobe needs some help from Tractor Supply, but some of the younger folks think he looks very modern. So what do I know. 🤷🏻♀️ Nice voice and I’m glad he’s with them.

"I did not expect his range to be like that..." Not to be rude, but what did you expect then? Bastien is Austin's successor. Austin is a tenor with quite a vocal range, so obviously, the new guy who is his replacement is expected to be equally gifted. That's exactly what everyone has expected from someone who is to replace Austin. Not sure why it shocked you so much...maybe it was just you playing the role of the reactor with that comment. It just didn't make any sense, sorry.
