Okay, you’re not wrong about the Peter Jackson King Kong, BUT, that film gave so much more than just upping the original with advance technology and effects. They brought to life a lost scene from the original 1933 film, they expanded on the island itself, there’s more characterization and build up in order for the characters to be more like able, it’s an actual love letter, AND it improves upon Anne’s connection with Kong. Whereas in the original she was just a screaming damsel in distress and nothing else.

I was so surprised by how good this movie was. I was tense, TENSE, throughout the whole thing. It's been so long since I've experienced a good suspense thriller. God damn the tension was amazing. I loved the camera work and long periods of quiet. This is definitely one to own when it comes out for home video.

Tangent: i totally think the dark universe could work. If chuthulu mythos can be a thing, if white wolf's world of darkness universe worked, no reason this couldn't as a concept. Obviously working as a concept doesn't guarantee success, it merely makes it not impossible. And as those examples say, there is no real need for the vs bullshit except where it more horrific and the real nature of the world vs normal people. Which is horror too.

Umm.... saw this before. Called “Sleeping With the Enemy meets Predator”. SPOILERS!!!!! Please explain the dog, collar removal, car alarm, having to scale a wall for me...WTF with the dog? She does set the car alarm off. She’s yanking the collar off of this Doberman to take with her and bumped into a car. How was she going to get this dog over this 8 to 10 foot wall? Did she not think of this? There’s lots of moments like this in this movie. And why hang out in the road? What not run up the road instead of hanging out right outside the woods you popped out of? Thats just the first 7-10 minutes of WTF moments. Oh yeah, she never did get the dog. When the alarm went off the dog went one direction and she went to the wall. But see, the dog is needed later on in the movie. Ugh!! It’s watchable... but damn!! Are we this desperate for any kind of horror/thriller that we put this up here with the Exorcist, Psycho, Se7en? It’s mediocre at best. There’s no true surprises of how it’s going to lay out. No crazy twist. Oh yeah. Let’s not forget the latex paint that’s thrown all over this complex honeycombed bodysuit that he’s wearing. He gets doused with paint and in less than 45 seconds in a kitchen sink mind you, he completely rinses himself off and he’s invisible all over again. Breathtaking!!! There’s a lot of filming of empty hallways and empty chairs giving you the “is he or isn’t he there” But that gets old about 45 to 60 minutes in. It obviously fills a void for a lot of reviewer’s. It’s Netflix quality at best. Like bird box, I’d never sit down and watch it again.

One thing I like about this movie: Villain is Villain, the baddy. In recent movies specially in big budget ones, the Villain is protrayed as victim or good person situation or society turned them into bad ones. I think this predicted Villain is not a bad guy trend made a story quiet unbearable to watch. So I enjoyed this movie because one can see the villainy of the antagonist.

Let me just say, I loved this movie too. My only problem with this film....is the name. This movie is so unique, scary, cleaver and interesting. And very original (for the most part), it didn't need to piggy back ride on a title that's already taken. Much like the Child's Play remake, if they just called it something else, I would have been REALLY appreciative! I understand they got the rights of the invisible man and they had to do a remake, eventually. But they could have at least had a few eater eggs or references to the original film and paid a little tribute to it. Much like John Carpenter's The Thing & David Cronenberg's The Fly remake, they're brand new and take different routes than the original films. But at the same time, those remakes still paid tribute to the original films and made a few connections to them. The Invisible Man remake, doesn't do any of that. And I consider the original 1933 The Invisible Man as one of my all time favorite films of all time! Period! In the end, DON'T GET ME WRONG! I still enjoyed this remake! I was just hoping they would throw in a few eater eggs or references to the original film. But that's *JUST ME.*

People like you are part of the problem with movies today. You're not entitled to Easter eggs or cameos from the cast of previous versions. Kevin McCarthy showing up in the Phillip Kaufman Invasion of the Body Snatchers was a pleasant surprise. Now, it's "Robert Vaughn and David McCallum should have been in the Man from UNCLE movie, because… respect?" Movies should just tell their story and do it well, ignoring fan service.

This movie was just another paranormal activity. Long periods where the camera focuses on a doorway or corner and nothing happens until JUMPSCARE and super loud bass. Seriously the sound design was awful, so god damn loud especially the ending scene and credits. The fact that there weren't any cameras in the restaurant is OK I guess that's not too bad but wtf is up with the guards in the psych ward? It was like a fucking video game with them appearing in pairs and getting immediately killed and then another 2 run round the corner. Also, can we talk about Adrian's plan? Several things. 1. Very minimal jump scares, majority of the movie is small things like the cold air outside or the sound of a door opening. It also builds heavily into the paranoia someone whos been abused feels, so half the time he might not even be in the room but he could be so she has to be careful. 2. He faked his death because he wanted her to think she was safe and he also wanted everyone to think she was insane. Saying my abusive ex used my computer and sent you that email is very likely, saying my abusive ex faked his death and used my computer isn't. Him being dead means he didn't drug her, he couldn't have and she looks more insane the longer she blames a dead guy. She doesn't even say she thinks he's invisible until after several encounters, she just says he's doing it, he's behind what's happening. And no one believes her because he's dead. 3. Witnesses in the restaurant. Dude were you even watching the movie?

In what way was this a remake? Not even one plot point from the original book or movie. The only thing this shares is the title. This was completely fresh and really well done. And the "tech" aspect has nothing to do with the movie other than to lend credence to it's really happening. The tech and/or science isn't focused on at all, not even a little bit. This is completely story and character driven.
