If anyone is looking for the rotation... I had my best stamina management and dps with: 2 -> Dodge -> Scavenger Burst -> 5 -> 5 -> 2 -> Dodge -> Scavenger Burst -> 5 -> loop Never delay 2-Dodge-SB, press Energy Meld when off cd and don't use utility at all. It's 100% boons uptime and you never run out of stamina / overflow on stamina.

Great to see, I was waiting for your take on the Rev spear to come out and I'll definitely be checking this one out. I just have a hard time breaking from Herald, but this looks like it simply all works together really well.

I love me some herald as well thats what I play most! But I tried spear on all 3 elite specs (and it definitely works on them all) and I really did find it felt best with vindi, it just feels less energy starved and especially with this build that focuses on dodging a lot for the relic, youre also getting more value from your vindi dodge. Definitely worth a go I reckon

I am running this with full ascended Marauder and swapped Corruption trait line for Invocation. This slaps extremely hard while being extremely tanky. I managed to 1v1 champ group events. This is so much fun!!

You don't need to swap to another weapon to trigger weapon swap, since legendary swap also triggers it. You could probably have another spear equipped with different sigils if you aren't fighting multiple mobs to trigger stamina.

Thought about energy sigil instead of frailty activates on legend swop. i use that on my power vindi with stamina, clearing mobs is funny as hell, like tigger on coke 😂 great video

ah nice! if theres enough mobs to reliably trigger the stamina sigil, that might be kinda wasted. but if there isnt enough trash mobs, (like 1v1ing a champ) perhaps energy would be a better sigil to replace stamina with! You may also want to swap "angsiyan's trust" to "song of arboreum" in the vindicator trait line if you get rid of the stamina sigil.

since quick and alac is for you i doubt that will be nerfed about revenant (chrono has had this forever and still has this), the spear on the otherhand will probaly get nerfed

I use exactly the same build on herald, just with sigils of stamina and torment.

yea it sort of works with every rev elite spec which is awesome! I even main herald most of the time, I mostly went with vindi because the vindi dodge has more synergy with the stamina sigil since it dodging more also means it procs it's dodge trait as well as the relic, so more might and protection. I also just feel a bit less energy starved with the spear on vindi compared to herald and renegade, but they all work!

I have a question, why the Superior sigil of Corruption in the shortbow? Does it apply even when not being used as an active weapon or does it mantains the stacks even after swapping or something?

I didn't really put much thought into the sigils on the shortbow since I almost never use it in this build. it's just for extra range when required, so you don't need to use exactly the same sigils if you want to use something else. the corruption sigil stacks do not work if you don't have the shortbow actively equipped. I'm not sure if they disappear immediately when swapping back to spear, but they won't last very long, best case scenario.

@@ieatyoulol Thanks, I just started using that build, I usually go Condi Rene, but for playing more solo is really hard to survive, and this build just had what I needed, I used a energy sigil on the shortbow in case I need that extra dodge/heal so I switch in dire situations only. Works like a charm even though I don't have ascendeds, I'm eager to see how nice it is full ascended. Thanks a lot for the build, man!

the relic will get nerfed for sure because this is not the only build that can perma alac on cele at all. Rangers can do it, thieves, warrior (berserker will be perma quickness + alac too), and many others as well.

@@drios8809 I think it's fair given that only a few specs could utilize it to the fullest. Daredevil with 3 dodges wont even need it as thief skills don't have CDs. Mirage could but then mirage can already generate alacrity.

What do you think about using torment sigil on spear alongside the stamina sigil, so you splash even more torment around you when you crit dodge? Better for aoe situations than single target maybe, but still.

hm im not sure about that one. yea it would probably be better aoe damage, but "on crit" is less reliable than "on flank or when defiant" since this build is not quite crit capped. fraily sigil has a shorter cooldown too. probably wouldnt be a huge difference if I were to guess

i wouldnt reccomend this build for group content. celestial stats are super versatile and strong when by yourself in the open world, but when in a group setting they are sub optimal. You wont be doing as much damage as the DPS players and not as much support as a standard support player.

Does it really give you 100% uptime for Quickness and Alacrity? I'll watch the video again, but I didn't catch where you said how the quickness and alacrity were generated, besides the relic. If it all just from the relic, then every other relic just became useless.

yep! quickness comes from the "scavenger burst" utility, and alacrity comes from the relic. Celestial stats gives enough boon duration to make these boons 100%, especially since the stamina sigil allows you to dodge a lot more in open world. I dont think it just makes all other relics obselete because gaining alacrity is not really as impactful in open world as quickness or many other boons really. And it is mostly useful in instanced content when you are able to give it to a whole subgroup, this relic only gives alacrity to yourself. You are also giving up the extra damage or support from other relics in order to take this one, and it can only really be utilized to the fullest by classes that can dodge more often and/or gain more from dodging outside of the relic for example how vindicator does damage and grants boons with its dodge.

as someone who never touches crafting in MMOs I hate Research Notes as a currency, and i was so annoyed to see them make a return and be required for the Rivers Relic >_< i'd imagine it won't be long before Anet slap a 30 second cooldown on that relic or something else, so i'm wondering if i should even bother being forced to grind Research Notes when we all know a fat nerf is coming to the relic :P

a good question! tbh I feel like they probably will nerf the relic but who knows. if you dont have a leggy relic, you can also get all the new ones from the Janthir Wilds reward track in PvP and WvW. Also it can definitely be a bit annoying sometimes to get research notes but once you understand they are essentially just a gold sink, they arent too bad. Crafting is probably in general the better ways to go, but if you really hate that you can just purchase them. Buy crafted items from the TP and research them. On some occasions this is even cheaper than crafting things to research.

Grind? Simple way to get 500 research notes, as long as you have armorcrafting at 350+: Prepare (or buy) 600 silk scraps, 200 mithril ore, 100 spools of silk thread and 100 knight's embroidered insignia, and a research kit with at least 100 charges remaining. Craft 100 mithril ingots and 200 bolts of silk. If you don't know the recipe for mithril helmet casing, discover using a mithril ingot. If you don't know the recipe for mithril helmet lining, discover using bolts of silk and a spool of silk thread. If you don't know the recipe for knight's barbaric helm, discover using the casing, the lining and the insignia. Choose the knight's barbaric helm recipe, and turn on the "automatically salvage the output with a research kit" option. Drill down into the recipe, make 100 (or 99 more) linings and casings, and finally helms. You now have enough research notes to buy the relic, after a couple of minutes of work.

I did see someone say it looks like it actually doesnt proc the bonus spear 5 cast on weaponswap if you swap to another spear. Not sure if thats a bug or not but im not gonna be doing it either way I guess :P like I mentioned, I just really dont want to be keeping an eye on that tiny little buff and always weapon swap at the correct stacks while in open world.

Vindicator is cool, but Herald is where it's at. Herald can keep up every boon (except aegis and stability) on itself and still pump a ton of condition damage, while also providing might, fury, quickness, and protection to people around you. Ridiculously strong build.

preaching to the choior here, I play herald more than anything else. but it just doensnt really work as well with this build. it doesnt get any inherent value from its dodges like vindi does, so dodging more often with the stamina sigil to proc the relic is technically a dps loss, where with vindicator its giving you damage as well as more boons on top of the alac from the relic. plus it just feels a bit more energy starved to spam the spear skills since youre using upkeep skills more often than vindi

@ieatyoulol You don't need to dodge more often, though. Just dodging attacks normally will give you plenty of procs of the relic. With the F2 facet and all the built-in boon duration, two dodges will give you close to 20 seconds of Alacrity. You don't need to run the Stamina sigil to make the relic good if you're playing Herald. You are right about energy management, though the timing on rotation tends to work out perfectly, and you run out right in time to legend swap.

I doubt they will nerf it. Chrono. Can can do the same without any relics. There's a trait that gives phantasms quickness which can be paired with another one that will transfer the boons to the user once they turn into clones. Chrono also gains self-alacrity regardless of your choice on Seize the moment, Chronophantasma or time moves on. With a Cele build you can upkeep 30s self alac+quick

I don't think you can upkeep even 50% alac uptime (feels like maybe 1/4 - 1/3 tbh) when fully optimized on a boondps chrono build (the one from discretize/snowcrows). Unless there's a combination that loses damage in favour of alacrity uptime. In the chrono traitline you have flow of time which gives alacrity when you shatter then you have a grandmaster trait but you have to choose EITHER Flow of time (grants alacrity - can upkeep 100%), OR Seize the moment (grants quickness- can upkeep 100%). So you have either 100% party and self alacrity OR 100% party quickness and 20-30% self alacrity uptime. + you're full squish light armor class with 1 "oh shit" button on a long cooldown (F4) which is useful but not as useful in open world. Idk maybe I'm doing something wrong but I highly doubt it. I have 1600 hours clocked on boondps Chrono and a lot of that is in master tier fractals, and strikes, open world...

@@1dozmos this is a celestial build, focused on sustained damage over time with very high survivability with no help from other players. for a cele build it's quite good DPS. but if you want the busted 50k DPS, you need to go renegade with vipers gear, give up all your survivability, and have other people provide your boons. this build is more busted because of being able to self supply its own quick and alac with 100% uptime. very good for soloing champs

In the past it was very competitive usually only 3-4k dps less then other boondps. Nowadays condi qherald benches 45k and is completely busted. It boon charts are also better then most boondps. It also SUPER tanky

Usually cele does more damage than viper vs bosses because most of the condi damage is from torment which does ~35% more damage if the target doesn't move and a cele build easily has 25k+ HP and near 3k armor, which mixed with perma regen means you're perma tanking the boss.

@@Sarcaustik Condi Rev builds in general. Most of the condi damage in Revs comes from torment, then burns or bleeds (bleeds have more weight for Renegade since has traits improving them). Hizen has a video soloing Butch in 2'50" with cele Renegade, I would love to see how much faster you can do it in vipers...

@@brucealmighty5881 Eh.. There are plenty of tanky solo builds that can achieve 20k without even trying, nowadays even 25k+ This build isn't even that tanky. A greatsword reaper is tankier and has more damage.

@@LetoZeth greatsword reaper is not gonna be tankier than vindicator in open world content. Vindicator is one of the better open world builds This specific build idk, haven't tested it. Lord hizen has a great set of revenant builds that put most power reapers to shame

@@brucealmighty5881 I play all the classes, since early access launch. And I say it is Tankier. It has 2 health bars, and it has 2 damage reduction buffs (Shroud 3 & "Rise!") that stack with Protection. Switch out the Relic for a 5% damage loss and you'll get condition removal as well. And all that while maintaining 20-25k dps depending on the situation, going up to 33k dps if the enemy is half health. It's a Sword/Sword reaper that switches to GS at 50%. At no loss to dps, so it gets even tankier from the healing. Do you guys only play pre-determined DPS metas and compare like that? Reaper is extremely tanky thanks to "Rise!", you double it up with shroud 3 and you will withstand 1 shot attacks that aren't designed to instant kill regardless. It's how I got my kingslayer, very easily. Being tanky is pointless if you don't deal acceptable dps. With this build, you feel like you're fighting enemies until someone else comes to help you out. It's not a good feeling. And this isn't just my opinion, I tested this out with several other players because we were interested in this Rev spear builds. Tanky yes, dps non existant. Better options out there. You got your opinions set in stone and you refuse to learn, so I'll just mute. I wont have conversations with walls.
