When I was in grad school I took a statistic exam in front of my professor but used my own formulas, she was flabbergasted and asked who taught me how to do it and told her I figured them out. I really like this puzzle because unlike some of the other puzzles like the Impossible Dove Tail Box or Da Vinci's Helicopter, it doesn't depend on hitting/moving it in some random way. It's purely logic and an ingenious solution.

Yup, I figured out the glitch solution before I clicked on this vid, the intended way is much more complicated. A strong mind solves a complex problem with a simple solution, a dim one solves the problem with a even more complicated problem. Such is the issue with a lot of engineers today, they throw the book at something to produce it, instead of taking simple and efficient paths- That's why we have to separate frames and drop engines to replace a sensor, or why a cracked screen on a phone requires the whole MB to be replaced- they are teaching kids how to solve 2+2 with a 15 step equation. Don't get me started with the vast improvements of hardware, yet software is going backwards. Ok, I'm off my soap box, Cool puzzle!

you can also take the ring along the bottom along the string, stick it through the elongated section then down the string over the ball and the 100 sign. do the steps in reverse to put it back together.

The solution you explain may not be intended is actually how I immediately thought of how to solve it in about 20 seconds of looking at it in the video. It’s similar method in that it starts on the either side of the ball, and takes a sort of inverse course to what you call the intended solution

I don't think they can optimize to get rid of the easy solution, because the ring must move through that corner in the normal solution, thus if you move the string to the side during the easy solution, it is the same move as one of the steps in the regular solution (the ring must be big enough to move through that corner to have any solution at all).

It's another wood puzzle guys. I have this puzzle. If you soak the whole thing in an accelerant, then light it, come back later and the ring is by itself. 1 out of 5, the metal ones are always harder.

Hi Is it possible that the puzzle is not concluded in this way? O_o? I have the impression that the black ball must reach the other side of the crack (the "I") where it is inserted ... perhaps passing through the central hole of the "wooden Q". maybe I'm wrong ... I don't know. :) bye! :)
