Almost expected Shel Silverstein to pop out of the background, since both the Irish Rovers and Johnny Cash had big hits with his songs..... the Unicorn and the Boy Named Sue!

Thank you so much! Joe Millar is my dad and Joan my mum. Lost mum 2yrs ago and watching this just made my heart melt. She spoke of this day many many times and it is just surreal to finally watch it. Although I've always known mum danced, I've actually never seen live footage. So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

Hi Joanne, Glad you found us. You'll find your mum in other early Rovers' studio shows . So sorry to hear about her passing. She and Margaret were such great dancers. Audiences loved them. How is your dad? Of course he is in every Rovers show we've ever posted and will post. . Please pass this link on to him.

Wow. I thought I'd never see this again as I remember it so well watching this on CBC. Johnny Cash has been my idol since the late 60's growing up. I wear the black image to remember him when he passed away in 2003 along with his wife. We need to continue to keep the old country alive as the new means nothing to me. Long live the legends of country. Thank you for uploading this.

So great to see more of the Rovers cbc shows. Please share all that you have of them as these are gold and so rare and precious to those of us who grew up watching them. The more rovers the merrier. I can't thank you enough for sharing your Irish Rovers collection with us. This makes my day. God bless you.

Lovely! If you happen to have a show they did in which they performed the Moonshiner, I would enjoy seeing that sometime. Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing these. These Irish Rovers shows are the best.

Yay more Irish Rovers!!!! This is one I've never seen before. Always a treat! I can't tell you how much I appreciate you posting these. Such a wealth of treasures in their television catalog, leaves me wanting more. I hope to see lots more of the boys on the way. If you happen to have a show they did with their dad Bob Millar in the studio, that would be wonderful as well to see. I believe that one dates from 1975 in the final season or 2 of the show. Any and all of these classic rovers shows are perfection. I eagerly await more of your rovers archives. Thanks again!!!

Just so you know, the chorus of The Hermit goes like this. He lived in the woods and he did what he could. To keep his life simple and plain. "I'm fine on my own, would you leave me alone," were the words of his favourite refrain.

Excellent! Thank you again for all these Irish Rover specials! I never saw them "back in the day" so I'm very grateful to be able to see these merry musical "blasts from the past" 💜 What an absolute musical treasure trove they are! These specials always make me smile, so thank you for posting them -- your channel is much appreciated!👍

Wow! Love to see new Irish Rovers shows. This is wonderful. Thank you so very very much for posting. Brings back memories of watching their show on Sunday nights. I would absolutely love to see more of these and all that you have of the lads. God love em. Nothing beats the magic of these rovers videos. Do you have any in which they used the pub setting in the studio for songs? "Maloney wants a drink" comes to mind in reference to that. I would love to see if you have any of those episodes. Thanks again for these gems.

I'd love to know the differing lyrics they used for The Irish Rover here. Checking the dates, this was recorded about the same time Cash's Columbo episode was released.

I noticed that the Irish sing with their beautiful accent. How come the English don’t. The English will be singing away, when they have finished their song, that’s when their accent returns.
