Hadn't seen this version of Pacino in ages and I honestly wasn't sure he still had it in him. Almost like the CGI de-aging took him back to acting like the Pacino of the 1990s again.

Fun fact: like so many parts in the movie, De Niro's "12 and a half minutes" bit was improvised, hence why Stephen Graham (Tony Pro) couldn't help laughing despite the scene's tension.

Pacino is a study in acting using your face expressively, small facial gestures here and there, very intense, conveys Hoffa's character so well in just a 5 minute clip. I hope Pacino stays this good in his later years cos it's like a fine wine, and he's eminently watchable.

This might be one of the last great "Good fellas" type of movie to be made. I never expected it to be this good! The acting, dialogue, and story is incredible! I've watched The Irishman on more than a few times, and each time I notice something that I missed before. Legendary cast and directing. Thank you Netflix

Got a friend with who has same opinion, i gotta ask what is wrong with you people. Cast is great and the movie is well made, but it is one of the most boring ones ive ever seen, i was so mad i spent 3 hours watching it, it is nowhere near Good fellas.
@rickyb60862 жыл бұрын
@@andrej0145 Lol, Goodfellas it is not, but it is still really good! It does have it's slow spots, but overall that builds up the anticipation for the watcher. Try watching it in 2, or 3 parts. That's what I did the first time. Also to answer your question, what is wrong with me? Lol, I grew up watching De Niro, Pacino, and Pesci movies. So, I guess my opinion is slightly biased. But, still my favorite mobster "Made" movies are: 1. Goodfellas 2. Casino 3. A Bronx Tale 4.Donnie Brasco 5.The Untouchables 6. Black Mass 7.Public Enemies Sub-genre Gangster movies: 1. Scarface 2. The Town 3. Running Scared (Paul Walker) 4. The Drop 5.Smokin' Aces 6. American Gangster 7.Carlito's Way 8. Gangster Squad 9. Brooklyn's Finest 10. Lawless Just a few good ones..

casino, godfather 1,2,3, goodfellas, carlitos way, donnie brasco, wolf of wall street ... these are films I can watch back to back a ridiculous amount of times and never get bored. The Irishman deserved a single viewing ... it was no where near as good as the films I mentioned.

@@andrej0145 I personally thought it was incredibly well paced. Easily the fastest 3.5 hour long movie I've ever seen. I think you found it boring because it's not filled with the same energy and isn't as energetic as Goodfellas. And yeah, it isn't as good as Goodfellas, which is basically the perfect movie. Still an excellent film nonetheless and one of the crowning jewels of the 2010s
