I know the Orcs are a weird subject for a LotR "tribute video" but they're so cool! In a terrifying, disturbing and disgusting way... Them being a race of "ruined elves" also gives them a bit of a tragic and pitiable side. Anyway, I'm going to be making more Fantasy & SciFi related content in the future so thank you for checking out my first video!

weird subject? they are the most interesting part of both books and movies because without them all the struggle and fights and heroes are meaningless. the ultimate scapegoat deserves its own spotlight. tolkien was a cruel man, like any devout christian person, he needed an irredeemable evil to serve as a beating bag for protagonists. some day people will realize that orc is a state of being not a race or ethnicity, it is asura-daeva dichotomy of hinduism rather than ethnical conflict. but not nowadays with the hegemony of western media saturated and charged up with christian mindset.

The makeup team knocked it out of the universe on this trilogy. The orcs and Uruk-hai are genuinely terrifying, and each one has its own identity that stands out. They are real fleshed out characters, as much as secondary characters can be in the relatively short amount of time we see each of them. Phenomenal work.

It’s amazing what you can do using actors and practical effects than use CGI all the time. Trolls and Ologg-Hai and other creatures are an exception.

its because the team on the lord of the rings had up to 5 years to prepare everything real armour weapons prosthetics everything they didn't need to use much cgi on the orcs since they could make actual orcs with the prep the hobbit team had very limited time and did not prepare so most of the movie was cgi sadly they weren't given enough time

Мне нравится, что в этой трилогии, орки и гоблины, это почти все обычные люди в гриме, от чего в фильме, ты ощущаешь их вживую, от того, как естественно они выглядят, как двигаются. Нет такого ощущения от орков, как в трилогии Хоббит, где они в основном нарисованные на компьютере.

They hated the war as much as the humans. because they knew that the humans, despite losing, would kill way more of the orks. the orks even complained that they did not want the war, because they were not able anymore, to pillage helpless farms without much risk. The orks were cowardly murderers and hated open warfare

I agree with you, it must be exhausting, no matter how evil ypu are, to constantly murder without reward. The orcs and still technically slaves without any advancement, unless I'm wrong and it's genetically bred in them, then their unflatering devotion is a bit much sometimes

​@@pnpdynamic9720 yepp. I see more love for LotR orcs across web, but for me what makes Hobbit CGI orcs way scarier is that they're way more powerful. They are fast, strong, durable, disciplined, capable of killing dwarves and elves one on one (which is bonkers compared to lotr or books orcs). Them being capable and efficient is what scares me. They are an immediate menace, not a ragtag mob of vermin. Powerful and strong evil scares me. Creepy and dirty does not, especially when I've seen many people in states much worse than LotR orcs in my life, unfortunately. LotR orcs invoke pity not fear in me. Especially compared to near demonic orc beasts from Hobbit trilogy.

I'm curious to know how many orcs are actual elves that have been transformed. We can see that theres an orc that has blonde hair; an unusual color found among orcs. So we probably think that he was probably one of the first elves? No? I'm not talking about cross breeding between elves and orcs and men. It's a different word for the same thing . Tolkien used the word Goblins in the Hobbit and Orcs in Lord of the rings.

I think in LOTR legolas says ‘goblins’ when in Moria cos the orcs have evolved to live in the dark caves. They have enlarged eyes and can crawl up walls n shit. But yeh in the hobbit they say goblins. Maybe in LOtR Tolkien tries to make them separate

They were elves, but after they were made into orcs initially, they became their own race. Bred with eachother to make orc offspring. Then when souron was defeated, they lacked direction and wondered off. The ones that went in caves eventually evolved into goblins, which is why they have different features to Orcs. And Urukai are orcs bred with orc-men hybrids. Not sure why in Two Towers they’re pulled outta the ground in a sac, though.
