very cool on how you explain features while being within an arrangement. I like this a lot. Probably a hell lot of work to script, edit and put together. Thanks for that.

Cool demo with lots of fun patching ideas. I own one of these. It is a very well thought-out instrument. Like many Eurorack modular enthusiasts, I have a big system. However, as time progresses, I have been finding that I like smaller, well-designed, focused instruments. I like the Cascadia very much. It is flexible without being paralyzing due to too many options and the right size to allow me to focus on just the part of my visual field directly in front of me.
@thedarkestrainbow2 ай бұрын
I too enjoy these kinds of systems. The limitations are welcome. Option paralasys is a thing for me too. It’s also nice to have a sort of “best of” a manufacturer to play with.

Love the cascadia - it feels like it has such a finely judged, coherent vision of sound synthesis. Your comparison of it to the arp 2600 is so apt
@Bata99992 ай бұрын
If Intellijel was a band the Cascadia wouldn't be a new record but more of a greatest hits. Except that each hit has been rerecorded worse than the original. The wavefolder for example is like 1/4 of a Bifold, maybe less.
@OliverMooney2 ай бұрын
@@Bata9999a set of eurorack modules put together to replicate the cascadia will have a lot more features for sure - individual eurorack modules have more controls and resources to deliver on their individual tasks. They'll cost a lot more to put together too, and won't offer the normalled connections the cascadia does, or the focus & judgement that went into its design. I'd much rather take the cascadia over that imagined set of eurorack modules to be honest. It's relegated a lot of my eurorack gear in a way I find very freeing.
@valdir74262 ай бұрын
@@OliverMooney I've decided to reserve eurorack for the weird stuff (mostly Schlappi) and maybe effects; for classic-ish sounds there are many good and pretty complete proposition like this (or things like taiga or the vrl 2).

Great video ! Totally agree, it's the 2020's 2600. There are so many things that you could not even cover everything. Hope there will be a new video with the most unique feature like vacillator, burst generator or mpe to cv or pedal integration ( basically you could even use mpe or aftertouch to modulate your pedal with it !) To me it wins the "most powerful semi modular synth award. It's at the center of my modular set up and I love to extend it with a few modules.

I'm only half way through -- but wow, so well done. I've had CASCADIA since March, and every time I see/hear it in use by those with experience in synthesis, modular, music, I learn something new. So deep. Thank you for the investment!! (one minor disappointment - why no PONCHO??)

Great video as always! Cascadia has been best single music gear purchase in years for me, on par with OG OP-1 which got me into music - it's so versatile, so well thought out to work alone but also integrate well with whatever you already have. One caveat though - requires strong will to not follow up to modular path (I failed ;) ).

This is kind of like the arp 2600? Behringer do one for a fraction of the price, Korg’s ‘official’ one is a little over half the price. I’m not convincing any of the diehards, power to ya! It sounds great.
@intellijel2 ай бұрын
The Korg Arp 2600 was around the same price as Cascadia when it was released. It is now discontinued and any remaining in-stock units have been greatly discounted. With respect to Behringer, no companies who fully R&D their own original products and use quality components can compete with them on price. YMMV
