I’m a revert, I accepted islam last year in December. Before Allah guided me to the straight path, I was actually planning to become an artist, making music was my passion and when I accepted islam I was very conflicted cuz I knew deep down, music would bring more bad than good, so I did more research on it and came to the conclusion that music will make you go astray and make you forget about the after life. So for the sake of to please Allah I stoped making music. Listing to music is one thing but when it’s your passion it’s different, and was very difficult to leave. I used to find my comfort in music but now I run to Allah SWT. Now I’m always listening to lectures or podcasts or something beneficial. Jazakallah Ahki, may Allah keep us all steadfast. Amen

for all those who used to or still do listen to music, listen to quran, it wont just be way better than music but it'll make you leave music completely. just try it edit: to those who are trying to defend music and says its halal just know that the music the prophet SAW said was haram was the music from olden days which didnt have any bad words and the musical instruments that were used were very timid and easy-going, now imagine how haram the music now days is
@reminder_for_you-22 ай бұрын
Two cannot go hand in hand,we must follow what's commanded. Music is haram whether u think so or not Music is momentary forgetfullness and disassociation from reality,it doesnt fix your problems,there's a solution to every single one and God has everything planned,he loves u,he said he doesnt burden a soul with more than what it can bear. U are exactly where u need to be and why be sad? This is a temporary world,u can count your problems not your blessings for a reason,u learn something and realize others every time. They imcrease your status beyond deeds and God gave u that hard situation so he will give u something even better,be patient ,good days always come if not here in afterlife which is eternal. People u havent met yet that will love u with your whole being. U are loves and important to God and others. God is the only constant in your life,everything else will come and go. Your soul is good,do good,cleanse and purify it. Repent,try to fix if possible,dont do it again and move on,leave the past and what u cant control,superstitions alone,they have no power and u cant do anything,it creates extremism and will ruin your life. Dont overthink or create unnecessary problems. Do good, hide others faults,help others so they do the same to u and God does that for u as well. Music controls heart ,emotions and subconscious thats why its haram. The sirens are an excellent examples as just like music its a play of frequencues to send an urgent message and a message of terror and fear. It makes u remember the hard times like the times maybe u had to be in an ambulance or loved ones. It has properties to manipulate and make u do stuff ,u get easily influenced and most make way for it. Its an example of this being used for good however most are bad uses ,see the content and hidden messages in songs,they're vile and evil and promote bad things,God knew that so he made music haram. And example of an ambulance is given for understanding. This isnt true happiness guys,its only with God, it took me a long while to realise this. Its onky momentary happiness. Music controls heart and emotions and thoughts. See the ambulance frequencies and sad songs that touch your heart cause its manipulative and most music is about bad things a work of the devil. May God guide u and us all Ameen take care

After some time i found out i had a lot of trouble sleeping whenever i listened to music i wouldnt be able to sleep at night i would get this cold sort of shiver and this dread and fear i cant describe it well but i felt as if i was getting possessed or something. After some reflection, i also found out music made me depressed, agitated, it boosted my feelings to a different level depending on what music i listened to. The lyrics in most songs promote fitnah and now that i think about it i dont know how i had the decency to listen to them. Lol im supposed to be studying but i hope this can help someone stop listening to music it wont be easy but imagine if you control this desire what youre reward will be on the Day Of Judgement. It’s important to remember that discussing music in Islam doesn’t have to be contentious. Based on various hadiths, it seems clear that music is not inherently haram. For instance, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) entered upon her while she had two girls with her, singing the songs of Bu'ath. When Abu Bakr scolded her, the Prophet said, "Leave them alone, O Abu Bakr! For every people has a festival, and this is our festival." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 69, Hadith 494). Additionally, Aisha narrated, "Let there be in your houses some of the entertainment (music) for the Jews, for I was sent as a mercy to the worlds" (Sahih al-Bukhari). There are also narrations from Al-Hakim that indicate the Prophet allowed the use of the duff (a type of drum) during celebrations like weddings. Furthermore, a narration from Al-Hakim mentions that Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) expressed a desire for a musical instrument to accompany his poetry, reflecting that the companions acknowledged music and instruments in a celebratory context. Engaging with music, especially in joyful contexts, can bring happiness without leading to sin, so it's not a sin to enjoy or share music as long as it aligns with our values and doesn’t distract us from our faith.
@vefgvdsvsv15252 ай бұрын
It’s also worth noting that many renowned scholars, such as Imam Ghazali, Ibn Hazm, Ibn Rushd, Ibn Sina, and Imam Rumi, acknowledged and permitted music in their works. During the Islamic Golden Age, music was celebrated and integrated into cultural and intellectual life. Their perspectives highlight that music was not only accepted but also appreciated as a form of art and expression. So, when we discuss music in Islam today, it’s essential to recognize this rich historical context and the views of these scholars. Engaging with music, especially in joyful contexts, can bring happiness without leading to sin, and it’s not haram to enjoy or share music as long as it aligns with our values and does not distract us from our faith

If all music is haram without exception, then all the missionaries of Islam who brought islam to my country in the 13th century are currently being punished in hell. They spread Islam in part by using local cultural approaches, including music. Even to this day, one way of preaching here is through music. According to Pew Research survey data, my country is one of the societies with the highest levels of religious commitment in the world, higher than our cousin in the middle east. It's a pity that we are all doomed to hell just because we don't follow the opinion that says all music is haram.

this is narrated by Imam Bukhari in a section of his book where he places hadith which are not authentic according to his condition. So would Allah put us in hell (thats what haram leads to) without a clear message? Surah Anaam verse 119 says "We have clearly explained whatever is haram upon you" There is no clear authentic verse or hadith about music being haram. Also, in this hadith it mentions fornication and silk and alcohol which are clearly haram through verses of the Quran and hadith which are clear and authentic but the word "maazif" (which is loosely translated as musical instruments) is not mentioned in any verse or authentic and clear hadith. So would Allah take us to task for something He never explicitly told us to not do? Which is messenger never explicitly told us to not do ( based off authentic narrations) ?

I appreciate your points akhi I really do. However I just want you to think. Have you studied the science of Hadith to infer that a Hadith which is معلق (mu’allaq) makes it weak? If that was the case, it wouldn’t have passed the strict guidelines for it to be a Hadith in Sahih Al Bukhari. Secondly, معازف (maazif) does mean instruments, like it literally directly translates to it, so it’s not a loose translation. Thirdly, If you genuinely believe that music is not haram, and the Hadith doesn’t speak about music, and the tafsir of this ayah doesn’t talk about music, then that’s up to you, but just keep in mind that your interpretation goes against the interpretation of Abu Bakr, Abdullah ibn Umar, Ibn masoud, ibn abbas, and the four madhabs. Your going against consensus of the ummah on this issue, and the prophet ﷺ says: إنَّ اللَّهَ قد أجارَ أمَّتي أن تجتمِعَ علَى ضلالةٍ “Indeed Allah has protected my ummah from uniting on a misguidance”

Such a great video for youth, well done! I would also like to add that music is sound it has frequencies, and it affects humans, which in turn can help negative entities to take over easily, like music can create trance, it can weaken your own energies and frequencies, entities like J!nn, can find opportunities to take over someone easily when someone is already so lost in the trance, this is just my inexperienced deduction I can be totally wrong, but I do believe music being frequency have physical impact on humans and living being good or bad too little or a lot, but we can never know which music can be good which can be bad how much is it affecting us in a good way or bad way, it is something that can escalate into bad, it is better to stay away from it since it's a factor beyond our own control and affects us, also it remains in our memory sometimes all you need is just to listen to it once, it may not be something you deliberately listened to, but heard randomly somewhere, the piece of music can be so impactful that it lingers on in memory, it repeats in our head, imagine instead of Ayah of Quran Kareem we have music being repeated in our heads, this in the long run can weaken memories, lyrics or not music is anyway a thing which has no profound usage, we must protect our minds and our memories, it is not just about a song being profane and filthy a nice song too is just useless, music and tunes are useless for us, they occupy our brains storage which should only be occupied with Zhikr of Allah Subhanawata'alah and his Holy Quran and Hadees and all positive things.

The ruling on music in Islam is debated among scholars, with different views: 1. Music is haram: Some scholars base this on hadiths that warn against musical instruments, like the one that says people will make music and other forbidden things seem permissible. 2. Music is halal: Other scholars say there's no clear evidence in the Qur'an or hadith that all music is forbidden. They believe it depends on the content and how it affects a person's faith. 3. Middle-ground: Some scholars say music is fine as long as the lyrics are good and it doesn't distract from religious duties. In the end, it’s up to each person to decide based on what feels right for them, while keeping their faith in mind.

It's true, if I can tell you a little, to be honest, I'm a little stressed about this, but for a long time I don't want to think about it too much. I really agree with what Brother Yahya said in the video. There's a lot of music that's not halal nowadays. I really agree because I look at the artist and the story. about illicit love behind the meaning of the song, but I don't fully agree with everything because I'm still confused by the song's instrumentation without calm lyrics without any bad intentions in it because sometimes the rhythm sounds the same as the nahssed that I often hear too, therefore I still I'm still looking for research on this and it's not completely forbidden, and there are many points from Brother Yahya that I agree with that in video. May Allah guide us all to the straight path and make us people who always practice and always love al quran in our live ❤ im still in journey too 🤲 sorry if my world wrong too

The difference of opinion when it comes to music is not to be considered as much as other differences in opinion, due to the fact that the 4 madhahib agree on the fact that it’s haram. The only scholar I’m aware of who said it’s halal is Ibn Hazm, but even then we can agree that music then is much different than music now. God knows if ibn hazm would say nowadays music is permissible

in general, in these disagreement affaires you can choose whatever opinion you want, this is a core rule in Islam. I asked al-azhar and they told me that there is a disagreement and you can pick whatever opinion suits you. So i hope when talking about these affaires you do point out that there is a disagreement and not that this is the only way to do things or this is the right opinion. In these affaires there is no wrong or right both are in doubt and this situation won't get solved until the judgement day so take it easy and let's be nice to each other :)

The songs played should not contain indecent, offensive, or haram (forbidden) words or themes. The music should not be played in a setting where men and women are in an inappropriate or un-Islamic manner. The music should not distract from or interfere with one’s religious obligations, such as prayer or other acts of worship. Please use your brain guys. Allah wants you to always read and learn. You’ll know which music is haram which is not. Hadith and narratives collectively suggest that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not prohibit all music, and in some cases, even actively participated or approved of them. He let people to play tambourines and daffs in celebrations. We shouldn’t leave his teachings.

Daffs are allowed, however music, such as wind instruments, and string instruments, are obviously prohibited. There is also a difference between ghina' and inshad (nasheed), which is inshad is about islam, while ghina' is singing for other things, ie, not for islam. Allah knows best and please correct me if I'm wrong.

@@mustafakaseer9226 Our sources are the Quran and hadiths. Do these sources mention wind and stringed instruments? We know that the daffs and the drums are mentioned. If a musical instrument has the potential for sinful activity or makes you forget Allah, then you should not use it. Also, according to the hadiths, the Prophet did not stop people who were having fun within a halal framework. But we must remember that we cannot spend most of our lives having fun. It’s unbecoming of us.

( btw in the times of the sahaba and even before people would often also drink and do sins around music, I understand that, but EVERY kind of music and ALL types of music ... I don't know, if some one has got a detailed reason please tell me, it would help me out a lot.

Assalam-walaykum may Allah guide you closer to the deen, forgive you for your shortcomings, and enter you into Jannatul firdawsi. 1. If you truly followed every command of Allah you wouldn’t play or listen to music. 2. Ask yourself why it is hard to give this up. The best way to know why it is haram is to live without it. Being in a haram can be blinding so try this experiment and let me know how it goes. You may think you can’t live without it, Try to go a couple of days without it and replace music with listening to Quran and pondering over its verses. Reflect on how you felt after going without music for a week. 3. “Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you and like something which is bad for you. Allah knows and you do not know.” 2:216 May Allah make it easy for you.

These feeling are all fake, they aren't real. Music is made to make you feel that way. Music has literally nothing good to it, some may say its good for you for whatever reason but that's not true. Music heightens feelings like depression and anxiety. It's also a quick dopamine release which is quite bad for you if you want to be productive. Once you stop music and invest your time in other beneficial activities, your mind will clear and it will be better. Try to not just listen to Quran, but also learn it an understand it. Inshallah all goes well.
