The island of Iona. Wow what beautiful beaches! | Isle of Mull part 3

August 2022. The Isle of Mull. Part 3 of our series on our visit to Mull. In this one we take a beautiful drive down to the south of the island to catch a ferry to the island of Iona. We visit the nunnery and the abbey, climb a hill and are wowed by the beaches.

Bless you both and thank you for your time of sharing with us - ( we missed the last ferry of the day 35 years ago) I was so disappointed -we thought we would visit Scotland again - but this hasn't happened -Lately I have been joining in with Iona Community each morning (Morning Prayer ) this has been very uplifting spiritually and brought a great sense of peace to begin my daily round (I am 81 now and enjoying my visits around the world from the easy chair - God bless and keep enjoying Christmas Blessings

We were really wowed by Iona and the drive down to the ferry was amazing. The video doesnt do it justice, it was awesome.

we've been up to Mull and Iona a couple of times and have always been really fortunate with the weather. the scenery is absolutely stunning with the white beaches and clear blue waters. Shame the water is cold!!!

Another great blog, could you please tell me what Iona is like for someone who can't walk very far due to a disability.

Iona is a very small island only 3 miles long. The wee village is right where the ferry docks and the nunnery we visited is right by the village. The Abbey was about a 10 minute walk along a road. I had a quick look at the iona website and apparently there is a taxi on iona that can pick you up from the pier, take you where you want to go and can also do a tour for you. www.ionataxi.co.uk/. Hope that's helpful.

That is a great place to visit. Iona though sounds more like a sci fi movies name for a planet. I wonder how it would be living there.
