FIDDEN FARM CAMPSITE ON THE ISLE OF MULL
A great base to adventure from in a kayak or on foot to secluded beaches. Really lovely campsite location and plenty of flat grass to pitch with clean facilities (although not enough showers and toilets). It is rather exposed to the wind and with zero sun cover but if prepared and in good weather it’s hard to beat. I kayak around the Isle of Iona exploring the coastline and having lunch on the best most isolated beach. The van is working well and I’m a happy man😬

To those asking where Blue is: it's simple, kayaking on the open water at sea is no place for a big dog. They would unbalance the kayak, and put both of them at risk. It's that simple. Dogs do not kayak oceans well.

Hi Al, it was good to meet you at Fidden and glad you enjoyed your circuit of Iona. I think that beach you lunched on is on ‘Island of Storm’, named after what it’s like in Winter months! It was a bit nippy at Fidden when the sun wasn’t out, it’s an exposed site, but that keeps the midges away! You need to get out more man!

Excellent Al. Watching your Mull and Iona adventure had me forgetting I was watching a self-made video on KZbin. It felt like I was watching one of those programs for the lads on the Freeview network. This one presented like an embryonic tv show, as your homemade production values are quite high. Add in your personality and your colloquial narration amidst the fantastic locations and I'm sure there's a tv show in there waiting to breakout. Something to think about pitching maybe?

I camped at this place about 10 yrs ago, on route to Iona to burry my late grans ashes. She always spoke about Iona but never managed to get there.. I felt it was my duty to spread her ashes there..

Hi, Caz again from Uisken beach, we also circumnavigated Iona, that beach you landed on is only there at low tide is a Coral beach....its stunning, you were very lucky with the weather as there can be really big swells and standing waves plus white horses. We were in the sib so couldn't go so close and was rough. Brilliant video. Thank you x

Would just like to say, your videos inspired me to try my first ever wild camp with two friends. Absolutely incredible experience for the last 2 nights in the Lake District with pretty challenging conditions having to set up camp ~500M on the sheltered side of a mountain after being moved over a fell wall…. Waking up surrounded by clouds of fog from below was surreal, can’t wait to try Brecon next!

spent an amazing Christmas on IONA, BACK IN 2017. Beautiful Place, water was a tad chilly but swam/ snorkelled everyday. making me missing it now. Another small gem is the isle of Luing. you can take your van there. if Anything even better snorkeling, beached are not as sandy. Thanks for the videos
