The Isle Evrima - Prime Time Stego - Update 7.5 - Stegosaurus

we raised a stego and had some nice fights during it's prime time. we also met two nice herras and a kamikaze troodon. in the end we fought dilos at night. a battle which teached me a lot XD

I know. It makes me mad how cute they are. When Mombie lets them live, I would be thinking you need food. Just kill them. However, when I run into them I let them live unless they swing. Yesterday I had about 10 food and let one live because it started 2 calling. lol.

You are so right about stego being in its prime when younger. And yet to my surprise i had a super interesting fight as a full grown stego the other day! A gang of mostly carnos ended up killing me after 30 minutes of persistent fighting. And i only got one of them in return! They were very brave and worked together to bait and get bites it was impressive

stego isn't unbeatable at all. specially a group good of players can be a very dangerous. carno is probably the worst to go for stego, but, as you saw, even they can manage it if they are coordinated. which is the downside. you barely meet such groups

Dilo's controls are amazing. They cannot see their alter ego. This means that the judgment is made only by looking at the target's attack motion, but it seems to be quite difficult control for dilo beginners.

in my opinion the controls are quite well, I even love to judge by the opponents reaction. but I dislike that clones aren't reliable as soon as there is water, a building, a rock or anything else which blocks them

@@da.mombie i think i remember one of the devs mentioning that dilo's hallucinations will eventually include fake deinosuchus (for when the envenomated tries to find safety via water), and fake pteras (for when the envenomated tries to find safety via jumping onto something dilos can't climb), and maybe other things too!

I'm surprised your steg could survive the onslaught of 2 dilos' clones long enough to outlast the venom. The other dilo got you in the end, but I was impressed! Personally I think they should have to bite more often to keep it up, as for most other dinos your only chance of survival is to get to water...which feels a bit cheaty, but I also don't enjoy getting completely murdered by hallucinations after another dino got 3 bites on me. The second dilo did really good working with its hallucinations to get bites on your to keep its venom up!

I didn't think they'll have to come close again and the clones will kill me anyway. but, now that I know and with a better sight (the first 5 mins were black only), you should stand a chance even without water. I guess, 2-3 dilos should be a good fight. even in the open

Hey mombie, I played the horde testing yesterday, and can't wait for you to see it. The lighting is soooo much better. Even when it was storming during the day, I didnt need night vision on! Theres also many new plants, flowers, and trees scattered around that make the map feel much more alive

I played yesterday two hours and today as well. I have mixed feelings. yes, the lighting is much better, but nope, I still need NV during dark cloudy weather at daylight. the new flowers are really beautiful tho and specially in the jungle area they make it feel so more alive, as you said. totally with you on that one

I will play more on it and will make a video for friday out of it. the new lighting looks quite well at some parts, but still too dark at other parts. so, I have mixed feelings to be honest. a good step, but still far from perfect the quality of life changes are very nice tho. specially the scenting while trotting for herbs as you mentioned

Nice action-packed video. I'm sure you know now, but you could have just bit the clones at the beginning instead of wasting tail swings. Oh well, it was still a good fight to watch. Also, I don't know your thoughts, but I was thinking of taking the damage from the clones while the last one was sending them in and lying down for a little bit. You might have been able to trick him with one more swing left in you, but it probably wouldn't have worked. I don't know if you played the new update yet, but the lighting is so good. It's the best thing about this update. Although the night sky looks weird.

thx mate ♥ yeah, I didn't see anything at the start and didn't know that fake dilos don't apply venom, so, I thought I am done anyway. later on, when the sight got better I regretted a lot of my decisions honestly, I didn't think I will be able to sit long enough to get a swing back. I thought I am just a few bites from death at that point, but, yeah, could have been an option anyway, I learned a lot and it was fun yes, but, I am only in parts happy. during sunlight and normal clouds it looks much better. during heavy rain it's still way too dark. so, we still need NV during a day storm, which makes me pretty angry to be honest. I was hoping they will fix it, but again, just half the job done ^^ yeah, the night sky has a strange blue in it. but, that bothers me less than the NV during a day storm. that really annoys me a lot

@@da.mombie The trick is Mombie to make them think you are out of stam by pretending you are, so they get overconfident and come in. Also a other trick is when you smell and hold it. They can't see what direction you are looking and will swing while you can look around at all sides.

Best trick for dilos is to go in water or on tricky rocks or tight areas where pathing is hard. Clones cant get you

I have been seeing alot about this and I have gotten curious how strong is stego? I have seen people in path of titans say when they first started playing path of titans they were scared of stego because the played the isle and also how in the beginning those 2 ceras were pretty cautious when attacking mombie so i was just wondering.

stego is brutally strong. you have to keep in mind, when I fought those ceras, I was just at 15-20% growth or so as adult stego a cera/carno is onehit. the biggest difference between the isle and PoT is how easy you die. in PoT almost nothing is onehit and you can always fall back. as utah you can easily attack a stego and if you get hit, then you just fall back. in the isle you are dead if you get hit just once.

Yeah, I think final dilo player used clones as they should be...distraction. This is why I don't think they should cause damage. Lazy players just sit back and spam victim w/o risk to themselves.

I am already happy that clones don't apply venom. I really thought I am helpless anyway at the start. I thought they will spam them till I die. but, they had to apply more venom after a while, so, I think it's quiet fair after all. the most annoying was the sight, which got better in the end, but the first 5 minutes were nothing but awful to play

@@da.mombie I don't think they are quite so bad as stego can tank hits before players have to come back but other dino fall victim to AI and I don't care for that in PVP scenario, myself. I too look forward to NV change. I don't even want to play stego now as it's virtually blind at night or in storms.

@@WebberAerialImaging true, the likes of teno and even smaller are quite messed up after they become purple. on the other hand, they can jump on a rock or something to avoid them. which is quite bad for dilo, because the venom isn't very reliable right now. water, rocks, even buildings can make them useless

As far as I understood the clones are visual represantation of the damage from the venom. In my opinion that's pretty nice.
