@@MrDaiseymay people will die doing dangerous things, over 300 people have died on Everest since the 1920s and that's 1 mountain alone, over 400 people have died skydiving in the US alone. As far as spectator deaths go during the TT only 2 people have actually died while spectating, still 2 too many but it was a completely isolated incident, injuries have happened numerous times although also very rare. When spectator deaths are mentioned it's people who crashed while riding their own bikes around the island so the TT itself doesn't have anything to do with it besides being their reason for riding on the island at that time, they could do the exact same thing in the exact same spot any other time and nobody would bat an eye, it just stands out then because it's during a big event so people will notice

Absolutely not! I wouldn't be out there doing that. Lol. I once saw a guy on a motorcycle that looked like that, get hit by a truck, on my way to the store. He went flying in the air, landed on the sidewalk. HIs leg was chopped off at the shin. I got out of my car, called 911, got pressure on his leg, calmed him down as much as I could before the ambulance arrived. I'll never ride after seeing that...

Another rider shown in this video is Michael Dunlop who comes from a dynasty of road racers and shows how much commitment it takes to be a road racer. Michael's uncle, the great Joey Dunlop was one of the Armoy Armada who consisted of Frank Kennedy, Mervin Robinson, Joey Dunlop and Joey's brother Jim Dunlop. 'Big' Frank Kennedy was killed at the North West 200 races in 1979, following year Joey's brother-in-law Mervin Robinson was killed at the North West in 1980, Joey Dunlop became the winningest rider in the Isle of Man TT with 26 wins but sadly a week after winning his 26th TT Joey was killed in a race in Tallinn, Estonia. Jim Dunlop is the only Armoy Armada member to survive. Michael's father, Joey's brother, Robert was killed at the North West 200 in 2008 where both Michael and Michael's brother William were both competing and Michael sat with Robert as he lay seriously injured. Michael 2 days after his and Robert's father's death went and won the race that Robert was favourite to win in Robert's honour. Michael's brother William was killed at the Skerries races in Ireland in 2018. So Michael has lost his father, uncle, brother and uncle-in-law to the sport that he loves and still races. That is true courage and why Michael Dunlop holds such a big part of the hearts of every road racing fan.

The Superbikes top out on Sulby Straight in the mid 190mph at the speed trap. The top speed is probably between The Creg and Brandish. James Hillier did a lap on the H2R in 2015 and was clocked at 206 along Sulby but that is a supercharged 1000. Saying they race at 200mph around the TT course isn't true. They get up to 200mph at the NW200 because the straights are longer and the bikes are geared for top speed.

Coming from anywhere in the world other than the british isles itself you would still need to fly to England to watch the TT. The IOM isnt very big so no international airport. Manchester airport would be the nearest international airport to any Ferry crossing port. The event lasts 2 weeks, one week of practice and one week of racing, one race per day (2 some days) The lap is 37.5 miles long and is lapped a varying number of times depending on the bike class. the premier race on the last day is 6 laps (225 miles). speeds average 130+ per lap. In the autumn they have another event for amateur racers on the same course called the Manx GP.

You missed so much content in this video by talking over it. The Isle of Man is not part of the UK. It is part of the British Isles (which itself is different from the United Kingdom, and different from Great Britain). The Isle of Man is a crown dependency which means it relies on Britain for military defense, and for diplomatic relations, but it is self governing with oldest continuous parliament in the world. The island lies in the Irish channel between England, Scotland and Ireland, and while these riders might be sponsored, they do not earn a lot of money by competing in the TT - There's almost no prize money. It's simply about the thrill of the TT and the bragging rights of being the fastest. These riders have balls like oranges. Check out the sidecars next, they'll blow your mind.

It's a two week event, one week training and one week racing, the race is against the clock, ten seconds between each rider, the rider that covers the six laps of the island in the fastest time wins, the prize money does not cover even the cost of tyres and hotels, its for the glory of participating, the Isle of man lays between England and Ireland in the Irish sea, Connor Cummings lives on the Isle of man, but most of the riders come from Europe and as far as Australia and New Zealand, even some lady's have taken part, in bike and sidecar racing, so not just crazy men, everyone who races here does this of there own free will, they know the danger, there are a few more videos out there, one is not for people under 16, because it shows accidents, from small to one deadly, the other videos are entertaining.

My late brother raced there on a production Yamaha 350cc back 35 years ago. Enjoyed it but they do only 3 laps and you can never learn a 37 mile lap in a few days. He went back mid 2010s on a Honda RC162 250/4 replica that he built and did one "parade" lap with no practice and a helmet cam. Here it is. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZC8dqKVbsh7eNksi=-VwyAXtKWXbTLuG0

Imagine that these bikers ride through normal streets as fast three times the US drivers and bikers is allowed on their highways... OK, for you Americans here: Yes, in Germany at the Autobahn is no Speed limit by law or government. In fact 70 % of the Autobahn is a speed limt by different circumstances, working on street, bad road condition, curves, warning when rain or snow etc. And bec most, most drivers drives not so fast (most time bec its too much traffic) the speed is rarely over 170 kmh (100, 110 mph) , even on areas where is no official limit.

It is not raced in England it is, as the title states 'The Isle of Man' a self governing British Crown Dependency... The speed quoted 135 mph was the 'average speed' for the whole 37 mile course....riders easily go 200+ mph....😀

Motorbike airbags actually exist. Built in to the jacket or race suit and powered by a drink can sized compressed air canister, they're triggered by a quick release cord attached to the bike. Some are full torso, some just neck and upper back. It's been mandatory in MotoGP since 2018 and becoming so in many other series. I was gonna buy one for track days but I had to sell my superbike 😢

OK it is NOTHING like Nascar or any other race. They race on public roads that are closed for the races and practice sessions. No safety barriers or run off areas. Average speeds 130 mph + but on certain sections they reach speeds of 200 mph plus. Riders and spectators have been killed. I'm a keen biker and have been to the TT races on the IOM.I've ridden by own bikes on the circuit not in competition. Each lap is 37.5 miles, over the mountain section there is no speed limit. I'm going again this year for the practice week in June.

This is NOTHING like Nascar- Each lap is 37 miles long and there are 6 laps to each race.(over 222 miles to a race, plus over 200 bends)) The fastest lap was done by Peter Hickman at a AVERAGE 135.4 MPH- that means in the fastest places they have to do over 220mph. Riders die most years as do the public sitting that close to the road. The other thing to remember, is that this is a road , NOT a track. There are no safety barriers for the riders or the public. The road, which has Brick or Flint walls, Houses, kerbstones, manhole covers, and uneven road with trees, thats why its the most dangerous race in the world. Not just for motorbikes but motorbikes with sidecars too, together with the watching public. If you watch it at the track, you are at as much risk as the riders. The "Prize" money is small ($20,000) - its not about the money, its about the kudos of being in the most dangerous race in the world. Go watch it for real and have some fun!!
