Anyone else think carno still isn't fast enough to be the speed apex? It can only just barely outrun Rex ambush speed. If it's gonna be the speed apex it needs to be able to escape from even gigas with no sweat imo

This here is an awesome episode. I really like the realism, it's honestly way more interesting that these "random" videos where you just walk around at V3 from trips to marsh. Also the V4 map is beautiful and I cannot get enough of it! I hope you will make more videos of this server in the same realism-style. well, Daspletosaurus and Gorgosaurus are two similarly sized tyrannosaurs that coexisted in the same ecosystem, each with slightly different feeding and hunting mechanics and thus not too much overlapping prey that would cause competition. It may have been the same if T. Rex and Giga coexisted together. If they had to fight, between the bulky T. Rex with its powerful gripping and crushing bite and the somewhat faster Giga with its bleeding bite delivered rapidly multiple times, I think they'd be pretty evenly matched. Also, it's good to hear your "good sir" again, good sir. :)

A Sucho would not hunt a Carno, its main diet is fish and in game it should stick to small prey. Also while a Rex would drive away an Acro in defense of its territory and kill it, I don't believe it would hunt it as a food source. Generally large carnivores should avoid each other.

you contradicted yourself, as you said MAIN diet. meaning it usually just ate fish. MEANING there are exceptions. besides, carnos are pretty small compared to the rest of the dinos in this game.

The exceptions in question would probably be carrion, Suchomimus isn't built for taking on big prey at all. Carnotaurus is around the same size and weight and would probably be too tough to take on, it would be like a stork attacking a Bull Terrier.

How do you know that Spino could take on a Char? Just like Spino the Sucho has very little in the form of jaw strength and it's arms are limited in mobility, making them quite unfeasible in combat. I would put my money on the theropods that are actually built for taking on prey their own size.

Spinos lived at the same time and place of chars and were known to fight a lot. if youve seen the bbc show, they show fossil records of a spinosaurus fighting a char and possibly winning. jaw strength isn't everything when youve got massive arms with massive claws.

crows will often attack owls and drive them as far away as they can from their nests, even if the owl has no intention on attacking the crows or their nest. crows will even mob and attack an owl to death long after it's flown away from their nest. when considering how to act with your territory or another's territory, (or considering how dinosaurs might have acted at all) it's best to refer to modern dinosaurs!! :)

Trex lived in Hell Creek. Hell Creek was a floodplain. If any mostly terrestrial theropod is accustomed to water, it's a Trex. Even Spinosaurus didn't see as much water as a Rex, but was definitely more adapted to it.

They need smell. The rex would have known there was carrion there, and would have just chased off the acros. The only time rexes would fight to the death would be in defense of a nest. They would abandon territory, or a kill if they felt seriously outmatched or were injured.

Would be nice if semi-aquatic dinos such as _Suchomimus_ and _Spinosaurus_ had a mode switch similar to the facultative bipeds, where they could swim normally at full speed or use a crocodile-like sneaky-swim with their nostrils and eyes barely above water. It'd be hard to assume the out come of a interaction between a giga and a rex. They did not live in the same time period a were built differently. The Giga was definitely larger than the rex, by 10feet and 1-2tons, but was built more for speed and quickly slashing bites like a shark that'd cause a lot of damage and then back off and let its prey bleed out and go into shock. The rex was a powerhouse who was very powerfully built and could take damage from other rexs along with jaws meant for crushing damage with extreme force and probably would go for the kill straight out. I personally think if it came to an actual fight the rex could serious injure and even kill the giga but if the giga ambushed the rex instead of going head on into a fight he could cause serious bleed damage and wait it out at a safe distance until the rex bled out. Right now, once they fix bleed of course, the game has some pretty accurate depictions of these two if they had to face off.

Territories are established differently by each animal. like a hyena and lion can share the same land and simple over lap each others territories. Also if a lion sure a hyena it may kill it for a number of reasons none of which would be a territorial fight. A territorial fight would be male lions fighting over a pride and territory. I would also add that competition for food has nothing to do with different species and their territories. You don't see rats duke it out with cockroaches or horses fight bulls over territories.

Normally, no. It does however change if the amount of food in an animal's territory is scarce. Even herbivores will fight each other if there is not enough food to fill stomachs of two different packs. Carnivores will do this more frequently, like lions for instance protect their territory more viciously when the big herds of wildebeest and zebras move away, following the rain. When the big herds come back, there are hardly any fights over territory unless packs have youngs.

Big carnivores like your rex and that Giga would probably only engage in a territorial fight if their food and water sources are scarce. Since it seems like that lake is frequently visited, I don't think either dinosaur would risk a mortal fight just for the rights to more food than they can eat. They might however have little disputes now an then over minor territory, like making sure the other dino stays at the other side of the lake so at least they dont contest the exact same prey. If one of you were to have cubs, things would obviously change.

Well, as far as realism goes, I don't think a Rex would hunt an Acro except for dire circumstances, contesting for food, defense, etc.. I also don't think a rex would eavesdrop to see a potential fight against a Giga and Acro. XD I know you wanted the footage for the video but if you want to talk about realism, I can't help but be nit picky on somethings. :) I'm liking the realism servers though. ♥

Not that I ever played the game but I think that if you're in a fight and the lag is starting to mess you up the only thing to do to survive is keep biting. Like I said i never played the game but I ONLY think that it would be a better way than not bite. And yes I know that you said you didn't want to bite if you guys stuck but he also might be biting but the lag would make it hard to tell. Just an opinion of mine that might not really matter. I was thinking about getting The Isle but do you still need to pay? It's been a while but I want to know.

Rex would *NOT* have backed down, it was more aggressive than the Giga. Whether killing other Rexes or taking down prey that fought back like Trikes, brawling with other dinos was what Rex was made for.
