Bruce Lee was way ahead of his time in the exercise science department. Even more impressive is that he had the physique AND power to back it up. And to extraordinary levels in both aspects. So it begs the question: Why did he choose these specific lifts on the Isochain? We cover them here

So is the 8 exercise Biceps? One more question? After how many weeks should we change the exercises?

Something of note: The famous photo of Bruce Lee using the Isochain is a Bicep Curl and Reverse Curl exercise. Why do you think that wasn't included in the Art of Expressing the Human Body Isochain Routine? Comment below!

I'm not too sure why they weren't added, but he trained for function. Those 8 exercises were essentially working the nervous system from many different angles. The biceps were necessary for yanking/pulling his opponent by performing Lap Sao, or, "pulling hand" in Wing Chun.
@NoLimitSquad

I didn't know that's why he performed the bicep and Reverse Curl specifically. Thanks for that insight. Also yeah, you'd think it would be extra credit or something for these two
@JayLoc0042

For sure! I have a book that claims he specifically had certain muscles he wanted to emphasize, but overall training was ideal. Part of those emphasized muscles were the biceps and triceps.

ISO tension gadgets were popular during that era ever hear of the bull worker or the chest expander or dynamic tension training? All of those static hold exercises can be done in a power rack... but not very practical... Dan Lee made all of Bruce Lee's gadgets.

did Bruce lee lift traditionally while doing isometrics, or did he stick too isometrics and martial arts only? Not counting abb workouts.

He lifted traditionally also. He had the mercy circuit training pieces of equipment. Similar to life fitness and Cybex pin selector machines of today

I read the dragon door articles. It talks about fat loss? What's better out of these two? Calisthenics Vs isometrics for actually fat loss? And what's better for hormonal responses? Also what's you thoughts on sprinting to lose body fat and stubborn areas?
@NoLimitSquad
@NoLimitSquad Жыл бұрын
Id say calisthenics personally. Not sure though on the hormonal responses. Sprinting will 100% take care of bodyfat and stubborn areas. It's #1 in the fat loss department for cardio :)

Calves so important for martial arts. Most people think about arms and punching, but body position and speed of body movement most important. Same in boxing.

So if I want to be like Bruce lee I need too do isometrics for strength and power, and train speed by sprinting and boxing ect.?

When you say be like Bruce, do you mean have alot of power for your size? Or are you referring to his entire fitness routine?

@@NoLimitSquad Both tbh, I don't want too gain any muscle, I want a lean physique like Bruce while also getting stronger at the same time. I have a lot of muscle from power training for the past 5 years but I always felt like something wasn't right about these traditional workouts, I always feel like im not at my full potential. In other words I feel like a normal human. I want too go all out and take these workouts too the test too see how far it takes me in the martial arts world. I'm confident that your channel is the real deal and doesn't speak lies too appeal viewers, basicly im putting all my trust in you. Im also a boxer who might switch too mma one day, I dream of achieving bruces speed and strength. Any athlete can dream of achieving that without gaining much size. I binge watched your videos too find the answer. Was it the isometrics that gave him insane speed and power? Was it the velocity workouts he did?
@NoLimitSquad

@Kainoa Pagay so it was a combination of everything. The isometrics in conjunction with his martial arts training is what gave him the explosive power. You can definitely add some OI to your routine and it will help in just about every way!

@@karmacop217 I'd screw the eyebolt into a metal plate on the bottom of the wood. The wood itself will only hold out for so long but if the screw goes through to the bottom AND screws into metal on the underside of the wood, that will keep everything tight. I may need to make a video for that
