So the speaker said that it's okay to take photo and video of ulama for Dawah purposes? What does it mean? Yes I've seen Sheikh Shalih Al Fawzan's face... but what is the purpose of me knowing his face? I don't need to see the painting of Prophet Muhammad to believe him. And Prophet Muhammad order us to destroy ALL pictures. Prophet Noah's people were doing shirk because of their love for their pious people. They're making pictures of their pious people. Is it possible that the Shaykh were wrong?

@@RandomSinners the point of this video is that one should not condemn his brother who holds another view in this matter. Since it's a matter of ijtihaad. The Shaykh doesn't really mention here what he believes to be the correct opinion regarding photos and videos. It's a matter of differing and ijtihaad.

@@Yasin_ibn_jamal So what if there's a layman Muslim who idolize a Muslim Speaker to the point of hanging their photos? Let's not ignore the fact that pictures are the main cause of shirk, and let's not ignore the fact that Prophet Muhammad (shalallahu'alaihiwasallam) order us to destroy all images. Are those Shaykh willing to take responsibility for those laymen who worship the pictures of their Idols? Please ask your Ulama about my questions, because shirk is not a light matter at all.

@@RandomSinners He wasn't talking about random pictures of scholars but rather photo or videos taken during lectures or dawah. You seem to be mixing a lot of things into the argument - shirk, paintings of the Prophet, etc. - to make your argument. Focus in on what he is saying, and study the issue in detail like he said. If you hold the strong opinion against, you still have to realize that there is differing and ijtihad on the issue.

@abuyousefali You're the one who need to focus, answer my question, what is the purpose of me knowing the face of the scholars? Can you answer it or not?

Shaikh is actually talking about Videos which are done for spreading dawah. Isn't this an exceptional case to be an example for the permissibility of taswir?

Wa alaykum assalam. So basically there are hadiths from the Prophet prohibiting "Tasweer" (making images of livings beings that have a soul). The scholars differ whether photos/videos of today also fall under this prohibition or not. The point of this video by shaykh Arafaat is: don't be harsh towards your brothers who have another view in this issue, and don't condemn them for following another opinion in this issue, since it's a matter of differing between the scholars. And Allah knows best.

Why videos also fall under this ruling? I find it too difficult plus i see ibn uthaymeen saying that videos are permissible

@@mohammadtahsinuddin what do you mean? Videos are simply many photos being displayed quickly after each other. There's no difference between photo and video, in reality.

@@mohammadtahsinuddin the point of this video by shaykh Arafaat is not about whether photos/videos are haraam or not. The point of the video is: if you believe photos and videos are haraam, then don't object to and condemn your brothers who believe that videos are allowed for da'wah purposes. That's why he gave the example of Shaykh Rabee.
