The Road Glide Refresh Project continues with these NEW Black Crash/Engine Guards from @hogworkz, the fit and finish is perfect and swapping out my stock chrome for black is a stunning and stealthy transformation. But the issue with twin cooled harleys is the lowers and just how do you deal with those things… this stuff can feel a bit intimidating but honestly you can do this easily in an afternoon. Oh you're gonna have fun changing all your chrome parts to black. I did that myself about a year ago. A lot of work, but the bike looks so much better in my opinion. 🤘🏾👍🏾

Great video, thanks! Just a note to others wanting to switch to black. Instead of spending over $150 on a new guard, you can take your stock guard to your local paint shop to blast and powder coat them. It was $25 for mine. 👍

Dude!!!!! Thank you. I’m changing out my engine guard, exhaust, and saddle bag guards. Got a wee bit frustrated earlier and gave up for the night. After finding your Video, I want to run downstairs and work. Those lowers are totally coming off, now! Then back to the stupid exhaust. 😒

Heck yeah good luck.. we just put hard lowers on my buddies road king special and they were from Amazon.. it turned out really good. I think we were both surprised at how good they were for 115 dollars.

Great video and great timing! I've been putting off changing my front crash bars due to the radiators, but you made it look pretty easy. I like your idea of tying the lowers to the handlebars. I'll be ordering the bars tomorrow! Thanks, I enjoy your channel!

I put extended bags on mine and kept the rear crash bars because I, too, use the crashbar bags. I don't like having a cupholder on my bars, so I always keep my water/gatorade bottle in the crashbar bag.

Great video. Chrome can be a pain in the ass especially here in NH. Any sudden water that you don’t get rid of all of a sudden rust. I don’t know if the quality of the chrome but I bought the Factory 47 Bars and down where the 90degrees angle is a little rust popped up less than six months. I wish I had a garage😡 Where my Road Glide Ultra is Vivid Black I’m thinking of keeping the Chrome. For people who don’t know there is a company who has designed drop guards specifically for Harley Touring bike. Check them out on KZbin. They demonstrate riding and purposely dropping it to show the guards protect it from damage.

Black looks good on the blue, powder coat the saddle bad guards. You can find some nice bike lifts at decent prices, would make working on bike much easier. Like the refresh project!

Thank you, I love the black on blue.. I'm still very much torn on the saddlebag guards im looking for some that are made for stretched bags but have not found much yet. Bike lift would be a game changer for sure. I think I'll have one eventually.

Have u done anything to keep your legs cool I had a road king and didn't really get hot now I have the 2015 road glide and it def gets hotter on the legs any ideas

My engine stays pretty cool. It's a twin cooled model. I've not had much for issues with heat.

@@Touringmidwest check out Cycle-Fanatix video on his bag liners he chose and installed… also Raider World has a video for the ones he ordered for his bike… super clean, great look, also Raider got some sweet blacked out screws for his bags… super inexpensive upgrade for a great look!

@@Touringmidwest Hey one of the things I liked Raider World did is he not only changed to black screws inside his bags, but he went with black levers on the outside, black latches, that really made his Red pop. Blacked out inexpensive items like that would make your blue pop the same. I would get rid of the rear crash bar though, or powder coat it black.
