I'm really glad to see you go through these, I have a few myself. Great starting 5. I'm really hoping one of the boutique labels puts out a release of Lucio Fulci's Conquest, such a crazy and entertaining film and would be a perfect fit for The Italian Collection. Yes, I love the Italian Collection from 88 Films. They have released some brilliant... and not so brilliant films but overall it's a great collection. The films in the Italian Collection looked good but some of the earlier ones definitely could be improved upon with brand new scans and restorations, I expect a big jump in PQ for Night Train Murders. The Bloodstained Shadow was slightly 'windowboxed' too, if I remember correctly with thin black bars around all four edges of the frame. I have never really took much notice of the order 88 Films released these in but those first five are absolute bangers. Night Train Murders, The Bloodstained Shadow, Spasmo, Blastfighter (complete with a Quentin Tarantino quote on the sleeve) and Zombi Holocaust. I can not remember a thing about Night Train Murders and I am really looking forward to 88 Films forthcoming 4k so I can revisit it. I know it isn't rated very highly but I really like The Bloodstained Shadow as a murder mystery and the amazing canals and architecture of Venice is a great setting and would make for an amazing looking 4k, I hope 88 Films upgrade it. I can't remember much about Spasmo other than it is another enjoyable murder mystery and that artwork is just weird. I love Blastfighter, some great action and the forest and small town America locations would make for a great looking 4k, lots of details, texture and colour. The 4k of Zombi Holocaust destroys the older blu and even that was good. Still love that new Zombi Holocaust artwork. I would love 88 Films to upgrade the entire Italian Collection as I would probably buy them all. I think the earlier blu is OOP because 88 Films have just replaced it with the newer releases.

I think Zombi Holocaust was never officially seized because it may of been judged in it's cut form on vhs / beta by VTC, -Like the case of Lenzi's Eaten Alive! on Vampix vhs (I think) that was also originally seen in it's severely cut form. And you are right with not expecting 5 star quality with these new transfers. Also there is a rumor that a batch of pre cert tapes of Z.H. went out completely uncut. I have 88's blu ray of Late Night Trains on blu ray but like a few others I have not watched it yet. Looking forward to more videos John👍👍

Hi John. I also have the Blastfighter, Zombi Holocaust, Spasmo and Night Train Murders releases they're very good as are their older DVDs still, quite frankly. The Bloodstained Shadow I have on DVD, generally speaking, I find this format still does the job nicely when upscaled on a good Blu-ray player so for me there's no need to be upgrading all that often.

I'm hoping for new releases in the Italian collection, John. Not re-releasing the entire back Italian catalogue. Loads of titles have never had a UK release let, such as Cut and Run, etc. And there's a massive amount of gialli as well. 👍
