Hi there when ordering off Second Sight who does it get delivered by?

My standard BluRay has flickering during all the second part. Customer Service won't send the correct disc. This edition is shit compared to the previous ones.

I had exactly the same experience as you with Eyes Wide Shut. Did nothing for me on first viewing, loved it the second time. Very odd.

Garlic bread isn’t the future - 4K nasties are! 😮. Blind buy for me for these infamous movies and glad I got the limited editions as they are gorgeous 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi John . Lovely releases, got mine a couple of days ago. Pity bout the awful graham Humphrey’s art work on both blu rays 🤦‍♂️. My absurd 4K disc is faulty , when I play the English ex cut I can’t get beyond the first 3-7 mins without it constantly pausing / sticking🤦‍♂️. I’ve tried numerous times now and give up, though the disc looks mint.and the picture is stunning .All my other discs play fine so it isn’t my player🤷‍♂️. Anyone else got this prob?. I’ve just emailed 88 about my problem.

After a few beers last night, I finally ordered. Blind watch for me. 80 quid is a bit expensive, though compared to arrow and second sight ltd editions. I don't really lose anything if I don't like the films. Value over time will only increase.

It's a shame more silent movies are not given the love they should. Of the Buster Keaton movies I'd also recommend Our Hospitality, Sherlock Jr, The Cameraman and Spite Marriage. Another Chaplain movie I'd recommend is The Kid. Some great dramas I'd love to see on bluray are The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Greed, and The Crowd. Some already on bluray Wings, The Big Parade, and The Black Pirate (a rare color silent).

The question to dvd certification by BBFC from 15 to 18 certificate upgrade is that due to censorship the shower scenes originally prints where darkened, the reason at the time naked woman covered in blood could be a trigger image to potential rapists! The film was originally certificate X in the UK cinemas in 1980. Oddly, enough it took me two years after the movies release to discover it! It was reviewed in the pocket size Aurum encyclopaedia of horror film by auther Alan Frank. It was neither reviewed in Fangoria magazine or Starburst magazine. Saw a pirate video copy of the film abroad in 1982 and I have been intrigued about it ,ever since. Good cast, intriguing premise. I was surprised that there wasn't any real accidents during the making of the film, I was told this by the poorly director Alvin Takeoff.

Darren was very happy (and surprised) to hear Killing Joke in there. It’s one of his fav bands and generally very unappreciated.

These look great. I can't justify the extra £32 over the standard.

Absurd looks way better than the previous Blu-Ray. That had a green tint. Anthrop looks okay, not a huge upgrade.

Great video.John.I haven't watched mine yet.I'm thoroughly looking forward to it I unfortunately was unlucky enough to have internal damage to my anthropothegous case (the lip that holds the poster, the top one was completely missing as if it snapped off and they just didn't think to replace the case) Everything else looked fine, though. I m just hoping that it was strictly a case issue and the disk is completely fine. My anxiety is just doing a number on me but I'm sure everything's fine, and it's just the case. Look forward to the deep dive. Because IM absolutely terrible at comparing special features from previous releases.

I hate to say this Paul, but your copy of Flesh-Eaters (Widescreen), vhs of Day Of The Dead, and pre-cert of Dracula are all cut to varying degrees. I have in my possession our Australian vhs of Dracula and Day Of The Dead, and amazingly they are fully Uncut. Our original vhs / betamax releases of Flesh-Eaters were shockingly cut though (5 x worse than your cinema version).

Hey John, those are some sweet looking editions there, very nice indeed. 88 Films is really upping their game hence why they're in my Top Ten of Boutique labels. While I have no interest in Anthropophagous (probably the longest single word film title I've seen), I'm sort of intrigued by Absurd as it sounds more like a detective style mystery since it's about two guys looking to stop a maniac killer. Luigi Montefiori aka George Eastman had quite the unique and varied career: actor, stuntman, Horror Legend, and writer, an interesting fellow to the say the least. The hard-shell outer cases are the way to go, so cool so many companies are picking up that type of packaging. Take care my friend, hope you and the Debs are well, and speak to you soon.

Dammit John, I was really on the fence about these as they'd be blind buys and they're not cheap. Then you mentioned they're limited to 1,000 copies and FOMO kicked in, so they'll be delivered next week 😂

Just got these two in myself yesterday. Love the VHS artwork and rigid case, my only slight disappointment is they aren’t individually numbered out of 1000. My first time watching Antropophagus, and not sure why this made the prosecuted video nasty list. I guess for THAT scene, but honestly outside of that it really wasn’t too bad, even by 80s standards. Watching Absurd for the first time now.

I do love it when booty labels release the old style VHS covers of video nasties. However, I can't bring myself to pay £40+ two films that in my opinion are really mediocre. The beast is an absolute borefest. Absurd, I was rooting for the killer to murder that super annoying child. What is it with Italian movies and children that the audience would be quite happy for them to be brutally murdered? House by the cemetery, nightmare in a damaged brain, this film, the list goes on. I will be super happy to support any horror films that boutique labels use the old school VHS artwork, unfortunately I will be just getting the basic 4K of those two films just for completion sake.

My copies arrived today and the cost of them faded into insignificance once they were in my hands. Almost feels like you’re holding the pre-certs!

Both of mine arrived yesterday, along with the standard 4k of The House by the Cemetery from Arrow, and I am looking forward to watching them, I can just about remember watching Anthro and Absurd in the early 90's on bootleg VHS tapes I bought from some guy at a car boot sale... never would I have thought that 30 odd years later I would be watching these two on 4k.

I thought these were a little bit over priced for what you get but thankfully I had a bunch of points saved up so I didn't pay all that much in the end.

Glad you picked up the webstore ones, I think 88 films did a great job on these. I got the same versions so I'm very happy.
