An era when one need not look far to find extraordinary music, played by extraordinary musicians. Today it's nearly impossible; the industry force-feeding Pop down the paying public's throat, and ignoring anything that doesn't sound the same. Thank God for these recordings to remind us of our wildly fortunate youth.

Jack Bruce and Mick Taylor seem to work really well together on this one. What a shame this lineup lasted such a short time. This isn't commercial music - it's fusion-rock , but they make it sound great.

I saw West, Bruce And Laing at the Hollywood Palladium on November 24,1972 and I"m 66 years old now and I remember the powerful sound of Jack's Singing Voice! His Voice would pervade through the Ballroom! I'll never forget a young lady fan standing next to me shouting and pleading Jack! Jack! It was my first ever "Live" concert!

I imagine, after a while, a man of his musical ability needs something a bit more complex than the equivalent of a nursery rhyme to stay interested.

@@TomlinskyThat’s a large reason why Taylor left; he was not musically stirred or challenged enough with the Stones. In other words, he felt his growth as a musician was thwarted by playing in a band without much variety. However, he could have played with Jack’s band of misfits and still retained membership with the Stones. Mick and Keith offered him several months off and really wanted him to stay. Whether Taylor left due to musical boredom, lack of songwriting royalties, or tired of the hedonistic life, his time with Jack was brief and volatile. Some claim Taylor escaped the Stones to save his marriage and health (due to his increasing heroin addiction), but Jack was a more cantankerous junkie than anyone in or associated with the Stones.

Love the hell out of this one! Beautiful presentation, and the band interacted in a most respectful way. Mick played the intricate stuff with respect and attention, as, really, they all did. Carla is every inch a master at her craft. She was the mortar holding the space together. Jack was… humble and respectful… Top form. ✌️✌️

This is precious. Recorded not too long after the 1974 Out Of The Storm album, but this song opened the Jack Bruce Band album in 1977 - first song on side 1. I would love to view live video of "Into The Storm" - one of my favorite Bruce/Brown tunes. Brown's lyrics are inspiring.

really a shame this line up didn't even last long enough to record a studio album. was jack's band but could have evolved into a true ensemble recording Carla's songs and using Mick Taylor as more than a sideman.
