From the Miss Black America Pageant in Madison Square Garden, New York City, 1969. Michael had probably not yet turned 11. The Jackson Five's first TV appearance, where they performed this Isley Brothers funk classic

This was before they blew up and one of their first big gigs. The crowd was unaware of a legend that was before them. Michael rocked the crowd like someone who was here before in another lifetime. The way he performed was just amazing. He performed as if the stage was his. You can't find grown performers who don't show nervousness. You never see it in Michael.

Listen to him sayin', "Let me hear you sing!" He's owning that stage in 1969! What a little guy! He reigned for over 40 years on this earth. And he still reigns even in death. Long reign our King.

OMG, I hope this stays well preserved! It's such a beautiful thing to capture!! Michael had POWER in his voice. He had grace in his steps! All the while, he was just a little kid! I could watch footage of him all day! He always amazes me. "Often IMITATED but never duplicated." I've seen quite a few interviews where people have said he was well beyond his own age and have seen his childhood interviews. I'm very sad. =(

Let me preach for a minute... taking nothing away from the talent of them men I'm about to mention.. but truth is truth. Take Usher... Bobby Brown.. Ralph Tresvant... Chris Brown...Justin Timberlake... and multiply them by 1000.. and you wont have HALF of what the Jackson 5 were. Never before.. and never again will we see a group like this. Self contained... polished... and the standard for what came after them....

Кто-нибудь восстановите запись, с новыми технологиями это должно быть реально, люди должны видеть это выступление, это настолько невероятно, такой уровень исполнения не каждый взрослый осилит, про детей вообще молчу. No wonder people caleed him a 40 year old midget. It's like he'd been performing for decades and yet he's probably still 10 there! On most of the Jackson5 songs it does sound like a child is singing but the incredible thing is he's got the vocal control of decades work. It's like he was born an entertainer with all the tools inbuilt already

Look at him falling in line with his brothers' steps at 2:39! I keep coming back to this video because I feel both awe and a little discomfort. My jaw drops everytime I watch it but at the same time, ali0015 said: "did he know what he was singin?" This is the discomfort part. Judging from his moves and the audiences reaction to the pelvic thrusts, it seems so to me. And assuming he did know, I think no 10 year old is supposed to be that sexually aware...
@chibababy
@chibababy 14 жыл бұрын
@barisms and they say there's nothing sexual about michael as a person..but then as an artist he can always do what he wants to portray on stage whether its trying to be bad, sexy, cool, smooth, kind, innocent..he can portray anything and anyone..as they said michael can be anything he wants to be, because he does anything on a higher level..it was said that he can mimic anyone's moves and vocal style even..with michael there are no limitations..that is why he's colorless
