Never saw them live. I remember the first time I heard that voice on the radio though. In 1970. I was 11 and sitting in my grandmother's room sulking and the radio was on. The first piano riff from I Want You Back and the sulking stopped immediately. I never forgot it.

I remember my love at first sight with Michael. Here in Brazil, this TV channel used to present 'The Diana Ross special'' on December, 31st, every year. Then, I guess it was in 1970, I was 11, when I saw she presenting them....I felt in love immediately, for their looks, their dancing, their voices, their songs. Michael's voice and performance was amazing for a boy that age......Luckily at the end of the next year, 1971, I saw them again, on the same Diana Ross special.....I'll never forget the day I saw them for the first time...

The Jackson Family had to endure being on tour separate from their mother and other siblings for weeks at a time this wasn't easy.

I believe Michael contributed but everyone loved all of the brothers, some older people be like oh, Jermaine and Jackie are my favorite or I like Tito, or Marlon and Michael are the best, everyone is different, but I like all of them as a group and Micheal's solo career, even better!

Hmmm, notice how you evcer heard New Edition, Soul For Real, the Boyz, etc...sing a capella with excellent harmony. You gotta show all you can do to be be all you can be. That's why MJ (along with his brothers as well) made being an artist a respected occupation and how you can dream while wide awake.

@strugglingman1 you are right. say what you will about Papa Joe, but even his sons admit that if it weren't for his diligence, we would be saying "Jackson 5, who?" He really saved their careers after Motown.

I think that Joe Jackson was just trying to discipline his sons so they won't be hooligans like children these days... If not for Joe, Michael won't be King of Pop or even be a talented recording artist...

I agree with you but in this world you do have to work 10 times harder to get to where you wanna be!! Shit my parents made sure I went to school and graduated from college they were not playing and I'm so greatful to them!! These kids out here nowadays need stricter parents!! I'm not saying Joe Jackson strict but strict to a certain extinct!
