The West Highland line from Fort William to Mallaig traverses some stunning landscapes, including the 1-45 Beasdale Bank. The West Coast Railway Company runs a steam-hauled, unassisted twice-daily service throughout the summer.
Stanier "Black 5" 45407 The Lancashire Fusilier is first seen shortly after departing Fort William running under the shadow of Ben Nevis along the shores of Loch Eil. Next re-starting from the eastern end of Glenfinnan Viaduct and then alongside the Our Lady of the Braes church before emerging from a series of tunnels with the final climb up to Beasdale Station.
