The 35t engine in the XE I own is actually built by FORD and has been super reliable. The AWD system and 8 speed gearbox are supplied by ZF. These are all time proven components. The later engines in this model (like the one shown) were built by Jag. I own a 2017 and will likely just drive it until it dies because it is simply a great car. I had some of the initial Jag niggles with software and a stereo issue, but all sorted long ago. They are not all perfect but if you get a good one they can last a very long time and provide a ton of driving joy. It is really sad all the CARS except the F-Type have been discontinued.

I got the first edition in 2017. Still runs like new. Gem in my humble opinion. Literally has everything & fast AF, + cheap to tax, run, maintain.

Also at 8:05, that's a speaker correct? I thought it might be a mini subwoofer, can't figure out why mine doesn't seem to produce any sound, all the other speakers and tweeters sound new still

I've had three Jags. My eight year old Suzuki has 85% of the features (AWD & leather), 100 hp. less and it is paid for. Probably way more reliable than a Jag. XE? No thanks.

Great review man. I'm trying to find a car that is more family-friendly then my Mini Cooper, but still has close to the same steering feel and fun-to-drive characteristic. Right now I'm in between the 340i, giulia ti, and jaguar XE 35t or XF supercharged. Which of those do you think would have the most fun-to-drive steering and handling?

Jag was making fabulous cars from around 2010-2018, but the new mgt seems aggressively offended by performance vehicles, and are religiously dedicated to reversing the quality products of the previous decade.

I traded my 2019 Malibu LT in for the 2019 xe 25t 4 cylinder regular gas engine with 56k miles, I figured because of the brand of vehicle that it'd be reliable for a long period of time , then I started reading about them, haven't had any issues except a slight sputter only when sitting in park, hopefully just needs a tune up, can anyone here tell me if I made a mistake? My Malibu I traded only had like 2.5k less miles

Good video. I have a 2004 Jaguar XJ8. And there's 2004 XJR I've found near my home area on Autotrader. And there's a small possibility that I could decided to make a trade. I find it a step up in some ways because it's the supercharged version of the XJ8, more power and top speed a lot less limited by a governor, and would be worth more as it's likely to be more sought after on a collector market. But on the other hand, there's always the backroads where the normally aspirated XJ8 can still be a good rub off from the XJR.

Nice car no doubt. Looks good, no shortage of power. But, if it was my money, I wouldn't buy it. And the reason is(most people gonna think I am crazy) no optional v6 as far as I know. I just don't like the fact of spending 60k for a 4 banger. 6 cylinder sounds a lot sweeter. I know cylinder count is on the decline for all the emission b.s.. Fortunately, all the competition still offers 6s. Alfa, BMW, Benz, Audi and Lexus you can get with a 6. If this car had an optional v6, it would be on top IMO. Because it looks beautiful. Anyway, thanks for great review.
@ECPP3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree on the sound of the sixes and eights. They are great and I have never heard a 4 banger that sounds better than a lawnmower.

Jaguar makes fantastic looking cars with very competitive performance numbers compared to other European brand automobiles. But for me attention is in the details, if the quality of the interior bits is questionable then I would wonder about the build quality of the more complex components, drive train, suspension and electrical.
