Jarbidge is my favorite place to be. First time there was in the late 70s. Back in the late 90s and early 00s my band played the Outdoor Inn every 4th of July for 10 years. I currently live in Jackpot NV and we take the razors over Browns Bench to Elk Mountain then to Pole Creek Ranger Station and then on over to Jarbidge to spend the nigh. Then ride back the next day. Love this area. And yes, it is remote. My wife and I would like to retire in Jarbidge.

My grandma, Mary Jenkins, was born in Jarbidge in 1926. So glad I came across your video. I can’t wait for the day I can climb those mountains!

That's so cool! Did she spend time living there? You've got to get out there to explore when you can. It's a wild place!

My favorite place on earth, Jarbidge. Our family spent two to three weeks every year there for Archery Deer Hunting season from 1956 until the mid 70's I have not been to Jarbidge recently and plan to go visit again but just for the chance to spend time there again.

I love what you are doing. I hope you visit all of the remote little towns in Nevada. It would give us city folk a perspective of whats out there.

Looking at Little Jack's Creek and Big Jack's Creek Wilderness and then I stumbled upon the Jarbridge Mountains. I know about the Ruby's to the south, but forgot about the Jarbridge Mountains. So I e-mailed the national forest office to see if they make any topographic maps of the Jarbridge and Ruby Mountains in feet. For whatever reason maps of some of these wilderness areas aren't printed anymore which I do not get. There are no maps of the Owyhee Mountains printed either but I actually was able to score a free one with topo lines in feet from the Bureau of Land Management in Boise. Glad I found your video.

Well, now I've seen the top of Nevada's Matterhorn, and no need for me to go any further than the Red Dog Saloon LOL. So, do Jarbidgers go to Twin Falls, Id or Elko, Nv for supplies??

My family has been up and around that area for decades deer hunting and camping/fishing. We usually were able to get to Jarbidge from the Nevada side coming in from Elko, but it's a difficult dirt road and usually impassable in winter with deep snow, so coming in from the Idaho side is a better bet, and I'm pretty sure the mailman comes in from that side. Such pretty country all around though.

The narrative voice here is like a cheesy, staged Discovery Channel show about surviving the Alaskan Bush. The conversations are forced, scripted and unnatural. Cool place, but damn... just be real.
