Seems interesting for sure. The bladed design does worry me a bit though. If it cuts through the weeds I'd think it would do some damage to the line. Have you had any issues with that?
@BeyondTheBoundsOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
No issues for cutting the line it just not a jackhammer

the chatterbait knocks on the head of the jig also
@Mr1BIGGEE5 жыл бұрын
I would not even compare this to the Jack Hammer as it looks more like the Project Z Chatterbait. Two completely different head designs and the Jack Hammer has a Gamakatsu hook on it which I would choose over the Mustad. This bait probably goes straight in line when reeled where the Jack Hammer has a little more of a side to side hunting movement when reeled in. The Project Z will come more in a straight line like the Jawbreaker would. Again two different chatterbaits and I would take the Jack Hammer over the Jawbreaker. Confidence is key and if you feel confident with this bait tied on then that's all that matters. Good luck on the water.

If this bladed jig is a cheaper in the Jackhammer it's not worth

The serrated edge is a good idea, but couldn’t it potentially cut or fray your fishing line?

You should try to get your hands on some Nories Hulachat chatterbaits. I feel like they are another jackhammer Challenger but since they're a jdm bait they can be hard to come by. Check em out you might find some on eBay.

Good to see you dude. We met at the airport. I love the gear reviews. I like your other ChatterBait video . I also flip my Chatterbait . I only keep V rods on me in the kayak. How about having a series of how to tie knots. I struggled a long time until someone showed me two I've never seen in person. If you guys are in DFW. More like North Richland Hills. 820 and Highway 26 where the Hooters is. All the way across the parking lot to the West is a surplus Outlet. The owner bought all Gander Mountain's Regional leftovers. He has about 40 left cranking TSK1SHL. Which I guess means low end reels. 99 bucks. I'm never going to buy a $250 real ever again after losing to polls in one trip. Thanks to a good friend that gave me an old falcon and this reasonable priced real, I'm good. Thank to Geno for the rod. Let me know when you come back around. We can challenge the googans to a kayaking Showdown down the Brazos. You Shane Davies and me. 3 on 3.

ok, so here's my dilemma... I fish north of Pittsburgh from the bank, and pretty grassy waters. Over the years I've adapted to a more "weedless" type fishing style. I love chatterbait style lures, and in my waters I actually like a more "naked" style without a skirt, I throw sometimes right into the thickest grass/lilly pads/etc., and love to jerk the bait from the grass to get a reaction The closest to what I'm trying to get is the Freedom Chatterbait, but can't get those to run right 1/2 the time. Plus the newer chatterbaits lack that nice "clacking" sound too. I've been toying with other brands, and even DIY stuff with chatter blades and split rings, or even a texas rig style with a blade and split rings. What gets me is a lot of them don't vibrate right quickly enough, or consistently enough, or rise up too fast, or blow out and roll, or even only work if you crawl it real slow... but, this one intrigues me re: the angle of the head design and blade configuration, and how well it may stay "weedless"... what are your thoughts on this Advantage Bait as it apply's to me fisheries?
@BeyondTheBoundsOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
Full Weedless is something ive never achieved everything picks up at least a strand here and there but this runs true clacks good vibrates well and catches...im not sponsored by them i just like them

I grew up out there, went to IUP, and fished the Red Bank and Mahoning for smallmouths. I find the Thunder Cricket and Jack Hammer you can clear pretty well if it’s not that stringy slop. The Thunder Cricket vibrates like crazy, but I haven’t caught nearly as much on it as the Jack Hammer. Yet.
@Jrk_19865 жыл бұрын
A few things you didnt talk about that has me kind of sceptical are, how well does this bait stay down in the water? And how quick does the blade start up when getting into the water, jigging on the bottom or bumping cover? Because that's what makes the elite, custom and Jackhammer so effective is that it's the quickest of all chatterbaits from my experience.
@joemac37485 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t agree with you more that blade looks like it’s gunna wanna go up. But I haven’t thrown it yet but I’ll know in 7 days when I get it just to see how it performs around my lakes Nd ponds.
@justin53454 жыл бұрын
Maybe you can’t use it with a paddle tail trailer . I think for your money the zman custom Chatterbait off tackle warehouse is the best value . Good hook , and a nice trailer keeper .
@tomvang18able4 жыл бұрын
Not wasting my time and money on any other bladed jigs if it's not a zman. I use a custom made bladed jig that people on a forum was raving about from a small company and it just doesn't want to stay down. I'll stick with zman customs and project z. No need to waste time!
@legionssb4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I was wondering how fast it starts up since it has a split ring which generally make it so that it takes some time to start up
