British pianist Nikki Iles tells me about how she first met and played with vocalist Norma Winstone. She also talks about her group The Printmakers, which includes Norma and a bevy of some of the best British jazz musicians playing today. The rest of our conversation includes details about Nikki's triumphant foray into big band arranging and leading (in the UK and with bands like WDR and Frankfurt Big Bands), her teachings at the Royal Academy of Music and Guildhall, and her reaction to being awarded a British Empire Medal for Services To Music in 2022.
