At 61 I figured out stfu and let their intuitions come on line. Speak only when necessary and then with utmost respect if possible. Drop your rigid expectations.

Thank you so much for this it explained a lot to a person who loves jazz but was confused as to how it works . I appreciate you putting this on KZbin.

what kind of music do you understand how it works??

Bill, I understand classical music more because I have been taught a certain amount of music theory.

Best line of the whole thing . Sax to drummer : “I don’t care what you play, but that shit has to be in the pocket!”

No you say that during break. That old school approach really doesn't work any longer.

Why Tom? Antonio Carlos? Is that a name his close friends used? Anyway I've seen Tom a lot did he change his name? Is that his Brother?

Music has become a plot center of ideas instead of jamming or swinging it’s becoming a hassle listening to these guys explaining jazz it’s working with a lot of planning instead of spontaneous creation.

Cameron ,you were at Columbia 1962 ?
@stormerc4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ran - I do think Cam was at Columbia in 62! And I was at New England Conservatory 1980-84. I remember you very well. You took me to see Fritz Lang movies at Coolidge Corner. Stay safe. Warm regards from Norway.
