What's it like squeezing between the table and sofa to get to the forward cabin? Looks tight, depending on what size jeans you wear!

Is anyone paying attention to the sound the floorboards make as Toby is walking through the belly of this thing??? I have looked at many Jeanneaus over the years and the ridiculous noise the floorboards make stretches across all models. It is a sign of extremely poor build quality.

Skipped past that mainsheet bridle setup again which hinders things a bit, I have no idea why Jeanneau hates travellers so much - even coach-roof ones.

Travellers sometimes cost up to 3000€, and to most charter boat owners, that isn't a small amount of money. Bavaria also got rid of travellers, and replaced them with a twin mainsheet system. I've been sailing with a twin mainsheet Bavaria for a couple years now and I can tell you that it's actually pretty good.

I see a couple comments on the perceived noise from the floor. Was that the floor? Or was that the noise from the main just flopping in the absence of breeze? Or the swing keel groaning?

Eu fiquei apaixonado pelos Jeanneau, mas fico apreensivo porque não somente aqui, mas em vários sites, pessoas de conhecimento falam da degradação da qualidade inferior, muitos comparam aos moveis de Ikea. Claro, levo em consideração os chatos de plantão e obvio os concorrentes franceses (francês pode ser um bicho malicioso) ao meu ver um Dufour pode (não sou um conhecedor) ter uma melhor qualidade com preço equivalente.

7 tonnes? Light? Thats about the same as my 37' Westerly, which is built like a tank (and the floors don't squeak even after 30 years voyaging). Has Toby ever not liked a boat?!? Though his tone does sound a little pissed off here, so perhaps he is subtly trying to tell us something...

Looks beautiful but has usual usability issues: tiny restroom which cant accommodate medium and large size mans (both toilet sit and toilet room are way too small). And another issue is cabins ventilation. We using those yachts in Caribbean and key west. When temperature outside us 85 inside rear cabin it raise to 95-105 and has no sufficient ventilation. Simply say rear cabins are not habitable. Front cabin is better if you can open all door and hatches.

Another Toby Hodges sales presentation. It would be wonderful for Toby to mention some shortcomings, for example the lack of fixed countertop space in the galley. Here is the definition of a review: “a formal assessment or examination of something with the possibility or intention of instituting change if necessary.”

Thanks for the definition Lucas, but at what point do I ever claim this to be a review or anything other than a tour of the boat? I had two hours aboard this particular boat, a chance to see the new model and I took that opportunity to get a quick walk around of the boat in to show the many others who might not have had the opportunity to see it yet. It sits in our 'tours' playlist, and is labelled as a tour on board.

​@@yachtingworld We all appreciate the quick tours you do, and we know it's not a full review, but surely even those of you at​ @Yachting World think it would be appreciated by those watching, to point out obvious shortcomings like a lack of food preparation bench space, especially considering that on the Jeanneau 380 there is no side access to the fridge/freezer area. Even the bin placement appears to be on the wrong side without a drop hole for convenience. #GalleyFail This lack of comment makes me wonder what else Toby spots that is of poor quality and design but doesn't mention. Maybe retitle the video - "The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 380 packs in the features without excess weight... except for the galley"! Again, a genuine thanks for the early quick release tour videos, but I do hope for a little more detail in the future in exchange for my time.

Look, I don't know why you have to give him a hard time. It's pretty obvious what's going on here: the 'fly around the world and show people different brand new yachts under the eye of the manufacturer' just doesn't have enough room in it for it to be an honest aprasal. Just like top gear, you think jeanea are going to ask him back if he slams it for being another caravan? Here's what you get: Great, crips video. Clear audio A well spoken and thoughtful narration of some of the unique features of the boat.(I did think the tilted front cabin was very cleaver). An actual price(unlike almost every other review I've ever seen). As someone who races on race yachts, I can see 100 cringe things on this boat. But that's ok, because we're all sailors and we can all see whats going on here. He doesn't say its a review. You however, are an asshole.

And fair enough that it is not titled a review but even on a tour, if you can comment on features should you not be commenting on obvious shortfalls? Can you point me in the direction of a video you (Toby) have done which could be considered an objective non biased tour? Surely with your experience, two hours should give you plenty of time to pick a few things out? Maybe this is me voicing my preference for the classic Yachting Monthly tours with Chris Beeson. To me he is the goat, however he would not make much of a salesman with his honesty. I am assuming that very honesty may ruffle some feathers with the builders, and make you have to work harder to get access onto new models.

Do all the Jeanneau's have the same hull?? For example, the Sun Fast 3300, and the SUN ODYSSEY 380. There is a huge weight difference. Is it because one is for racing and very spartan and the other for comfort??

The Sun Fast is a very different (racing) range to the SO (cruising range). Different designs and designers

It's a shame boats of this size are not offered with a layout for a single-person, doing solo blue water adventures. That's why I am looking at 38 footers.... like the Ericson 38. Such a different vibe... that boat is far more workhorse like, more cozy, more suited to a single sailor!

The boat looks very nice however the 3 year world wide coverage is misleading. I bought 410 boat and within 6 months had problem with the engine. I wrote emails after emails to Jeanneau and did not receive any response. The dealer just stated that my expectations were too high it usually takes many days to fix a problem like this. That is world wide coverage.

I fully agree! Stepped onto this yacht at this year's HISWA Boat show. Took me five minutes to conclude it's rubbish! "Cheap" and real nasty!!
