I used to be a Jeep guy. Always got the old reliable 4.0s. In 2017 I got a new one with the 3.6. Man, make sure you service that thing regularly and treat it with kid gloves. Mine loved head gaskets. Just saying,,,,

I got my Rubicon 4xe for 40,700 ($62,000 msrp) out the door. Traded it in last weekend 7 months later for $40,400. A total depreciation of $300 from purchase price. I couldn't be happier to get rid of that crap.

Had to sell my 2012 Wrangler a couple of years ago when I moved out of the U.S. Had a lot of great adventures and I miss it, but would never buy another one. Non-stop maintenance. It would break if you looked at it too long.

Biggest mistake ever , i should've got a lexus or a 4runner , bought a high altitude 4xe custom order last year, got a 8% off msrp plus the $7,500 tax credit added on the lease , yes it's a nice discount, msrp was $70k , it's not the primary vehicle in my house more like a weekend truck and my wife use it here and there , this year wanted to trade it in for something cheaper because it only has 6k miles (because of the low usage) and already been at the dealership 3 times for recalls not to mention one time it completely shut off while on a road trip with the family which was really scary and i got mad as hell , long story short, took it to car max and other dealers and they're offering me less than 40k which means i have to suck it up and wait for my lease to end , keep this in mind , $70k msrp and in just a year a literally brand new vehicle no accidents no nothing and only around 6k miles already lost 30k of its value, i thought jeep wrangler held their value but this is insane, my advice if you really want it just lease it and make sure you can keep the vehicle for the longevity of the lease but otherwise not worth it all all , you get a recall for anything and it's a mission to make an appointment at the dealership and they treat you like their doing you a favor,, never ever again

Unfortunately the experience you're having is pretty much the entire automobile industry right now. I too purchased a new vehicle which turned out to be a dud. After six months and 3000 miles trade-in value was awful. But then they take the vehicle and turn around and bump the price up 10-12k it's a very weird time we're in.

I had a 2000 Wrangler. Roll up windows, 4.0 liter, no electronics, mechanically engaged 4WD, small, maneuverable. Cheap. It was what a jeep should have be.

Need your help please. Just found your videos as I was researching a JEEP for a future purchase. When I research them I am finding so many people having issues with a few things. For example, what about the dry start up issue because of the oil filter being empty when you first start the engine? Is the $400.00 accessory needed to be purchased and installed that has the special valve ? Also since you are in there, what about the plastic oil cooler that people are havening cracked due to heat? Then some talk of electrical issues and some say they have a generator and others say no they have an alternator? Too, the Corning Gorilla glass people are cracking them too. The rear final driver sensor people say they need to replace it? So I really thought I would like a new Jeep and do not want to buy one every year as some people do because they are afraid to put too many mikes on them and worry if the engine can even last 100,000 miles or so? Or am I being swayed by some people that have just had bad luck? Hope you understand my concern and offer some good advice. I am into motorcycles too and so far this JEEP is reminding me of some of the KTM models that there are so many issues you need to know and correct before you go any where with one. Thank You Sir!!

When the MSRP of a Sahara is 62k,9% or 10% off is a joke,I would not buy one unless I got more than 20% off MSRP because of the corrosion issues you will deal with in the future and in my opinion that MSRP is a fantasy...NONE of those Jeep are worth anything near 60k.

Leased a Wrangler Sahara 4xe exactly one year ago this month. 36/10k. Got from a dealer on a JL forum. We had affiliate code discount, $1,000 web offer, and the $7500 Tax credit, plus all sorts of other rebates. Flew to another state and drove it back because my local dealers were still over MSRP. $514/month with only first month down (rolled taxes and all fees). MSRP was over $62k. Already had it in the shop for the Death Wobble (beeeep boop beep boop.. "Wobble.... an unsteady movement from side to side") . (At 4k miles!!!). After looking at what its worth today, CCAP has tremendous negative equity...( Glad its not me who purchased it).

It’s been to the dealership over 12 times from issues of gas cap, not opening to not charging to a new track bar and little stuff here in there. Luise Bank has the worst customer service ever God forbid you forget it a payment or you change banks and the auto pay doesn’t go through. They treat you like it’s the end of the world.

Dave Ramsey calls a lease "a fleece." You pay for the admin costs of the lease and if the vehicle gets totaled, any equity goes to the bank and not you, because they are the owner.

There ain’t a new factory spec’d jeep on the planet worth $25k let alone $50k+…. Basically nothing (all makes all models) built since 2004 is even remotely reliable …way too many gadgets and unnecessary computer controlled crap. Don’t believe me go ask any honest mechanic.
