Awesome guitarist. I saw him in the 90's in Paris. It was fabulous

My god what an incredible talent he was! Talk about underrated? I don't think any guitar player is more underrated than this man. He's often overlooked but he'll never be forgotten.......I've been playing guitar for longer than I care to admit and I'm not anywhere in the same solar system as this man. RIP Jeff Healey

Jeff Healey didn't just play music, it flowed through his soul as if he were a celestial being, immortalizing him in the minds of all who appreciated his music. Truly an amazing gifted guitar legend and one of my all time inspirations. I wish someday to even posses half his skill.
@drjay73 Жыл бұрын
I'd be happy with 1/32 of his skill! You said it best, it just flowed out of his soul. It was a part of him whether he could see or not. That's some powerful stuff

No word can describe his talent.

He can play the guitar behind his head, with his teeth now with his foot in addition to him having a very unique style. Most of all he's blind and he does all these things. Holy shit. Such a criminally underrated guitar player. He is one of the very very few people who can blow SRV out of the water

One of Canada premier musicians. Much much more than just a guitar ace, Jeff was a multi faceted musician as became apparent during his later years. He playe a kik ass trumpet/keybpoard, drums, he could play whatever he set his mind too, he wqas just that good. But humble, you will never meet a person as humble as Jeff was. The whole showbiz thing waas something he had to 'endure' in order to get his music to the people who most wanted it. His fans. He died way to fucking soon, and we will always miss him. RIP big shooter, you were truly one of a kind.

WTF is even going on at 2:38?!?!? Jeff was a Master Improviser with not only a wealth of knowledge from Rock, Blues, Jazz and Classical, but also an endless supply of musical ideas. He never played anything the same way twice. My favorite part of his performances of this song is always when the band drops out at the end and he just improvises a symphony of guitar licks and riffs on the spot. There will never be another like him.

Jeff was blind btw, he went blind at the tender age of threee IIRC, if im wrong my apologies, but I think he was a toddler. This vid is great because you can really see his techniqe how he fretted the notes and played fast licks, pretty cool thanks for sharing with us.

Not only was he blind but also he is playing here a cheap MIJ Squier Strat,with upgraded pickups/hardware.Makes it even more impressive,when you see what kind of super expensive,custom shop or vintage guitars other famous guitarists play.
@ianklauss67678 жыл бұрын
+greekfreak1980 Hey, I have a MIJ Squier Strat, with Seymour Duncan vintage style pickups! And I wouldn't say it is 'cheap'. It was and still is a great guitar, that was better value for money than a made in USA Fender Strat.

sure...first thing you need to do is gouge the eyeballs out of your head and pray for god to show you how to purely express yourself through 6strings on a strat.I saw Jeff healey perform at the Moore Theatre in Seattle Washington in the early 90's.What i can say is that i was lucky to see Jeff in his element in his time. :) It's something to behold when someone can express their soul through music that well.............HAVE MERCY!

I think his style actually makes it easier to play. He's able to jump around and hit more notes playing like a piano. He's using his thumb A LOT, which is not really used for fretting, but more versatile than your fingers. Doesn't hurt to also be a sound Wizard.

Jesus is the Light John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father whiich hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. 46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. 47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
