Jenn as an IPHONE user the lightning to HDMI connector works great for listening to my APPLE music collection and direct streaming any apps from my phone, i.e. NETFLIX, HULU, AMAZON PRIME directly to the Jensen TV. No need to download any apps.

That's great! I prefer a wireless connection, but it doesn't seem to be possible on an iPhone or IPad without wifi.

So, newbie here. So you plug your iPad/iPhone into the cube (not the TV) with a lightning to HDMI cord and you can send Netflix to the tv? As long as the tv’s “source” is set correctly?

Jenn, I wasn’t very clear about using the IPHONE. Actually any music on my IPHONE, mainly my APPLE music library, I do stream WIRELESSLY from my IPHONE connected to the Jensen via Bluetooth. It’s anything else that I’m essentially screen mirroring that I use the Apple lightning to HDMI connection-this works for NETFLIX/HULU/AMAZON PRIME, etc.

very informative. we've added our roku to our tab400 tv. like you said, we don't go camping to watch tv but sometimes it's nice to have the option. especially on rainy days when we're not working on editing youtube videos.

If you have a collection of music saved in the MP3 file format copy them to a mini thumb drive and stick it in the Jensen USB port. The old Jensen can only read a stick with fewer than 1000 tracks. I don’t know about the new one.

How do you select a particular song from the thumb drive?

@@juddlarson9718 I mostly just shuffle the tracks on the thumb drive, but if I want to listen to a particular album I turn on the TV to see the list of albums & tracks.

I find the smartphone/laptop as the primary entertainment over the T@B media center. Using the TV as a secondary monitor. Camping typically can't receive TV so using netflix/amazonprime you can download movies to your laptop/phone. Also we use headphones if in campgrounds because of not wanting to be too loud. I believe the builtin media center is obsolete and can replace with lower power(USB) based products like Bluetooth speakers/monitors and laptops/smartphones. BTW not many laptops can be run from 12V but I have the Microsoft surface pro 3 and up series laptops and they can be operated from 12VDC without AC. Otherwise some laptops can be powered/charged from USB-C. Not sure if newer T@Bs have builtin USB-C from the 12V system while boondocking. The point is its very power efficient to avoid needing to use a 12VDC to AC converter to run equipment. Emphasizing the original point made in this video of using 12VDC design equipment such as the Jensen products for RV's.

Agree...I use a Surface bookable ND have owned Surface Pros. I keep a GZ Yeti 1000 in my TV to be able to charge the SurfaceBook.

Hi Jenn, I have the Microsoft display adapter attached to the Jensen radio, TV is on HDMI. I am casting because I can see thst I'm scrolling through my Samsung phone. I try to play a downloaded movie, and I can hear it through the Jensen, see the normal screen, it shows the rating, play buttons, cast and movie info but the actual movie picture is blank! Any ideas?

@vikinghorserider I am glad the important stuff works 🤣 The app might block casting. I haven't used the display adapter in a year or so so I don't know what is going on, for sure. I think I cast my screen vs. the app, if I remember correctly.
