Muhammad Asad was indeed from what was then Austria, but, given what's going on right now, it's important to point out that, based on today's borders, he was from what is now Ukraine, from a city that's called Lemberg in German and Lviv in Ukrainian. He is well remembered even by non-Muslims in Lviv, and conferences are held there in his honour once in a while.

Assalam alaykum. Wonderful insights. I can listen to this all day. Can I just give a shout out to our beloved marhoom brother Mohammed Knut Bernstrom, an emissary sent from Sweden to Morocco (a revert), who translated the beautiful Qur'an into Swedish, called Koranens budskap (translation: the message of the Koran). I had the honour of being in his presence a few decades ago, where he told our small gathering he was hoping to live long enough to translate al Bukhari. May Allah swt accept his soul, his deeds and intentions. Also, another thing. I have long discussions with my 5 & 7 year old re: Allah swt and calling God him. Although challenging to explain the ins and outs of linguistics to them at this age, we have somehow managed to explore wording from he - she - it to reiterating that Allah is none of that but instead en entity in its own right. Any tips on how to explain this to young ones would be greatly appreciated! Jzkk

A few questions which Shaykh Hamza should shed light on the next session of the Quranic sciences: 1. Why is the structure of the Quran the way it is? 2. Why are the Surahs in the begining generally longer and shorter towards the end? 3. Why do the the verses generally shorten as the Quran proceeds from Baqarah towards Al-Nas?

He is wrong for saying that people are born gay. Surah Ash-Shams, Verse 7&8: وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, Surah Ash-Shams, Verse 8: فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it;. If allah made the soul perfect and made it understand what is right or wrong, a person cannot be born gay.

As soon as you criticize Hanson's public statements on the Qur'an or any other subject his followers immediately pounce and (falsely) accuse you of "jealousy" - this is because deep down that is what they would really like to believe. This tells me everything I really need to know. His followers are not genuinely interested in criticisms or knowledge since they only embrace a personality cult around him. In true Islamic scholastic discourse criticisms are usually allowed and even encouraged. However, in personality cults constructive criticism is actively banned and the hero of this cult is never subject to any searching questions as expected in genuine scholastic discourse. There are so many questions about this video and about his understanding of the Qur'an I would like to ask but I fear the ignominious reactions of his fanatical followers and doubt I will get anything meaningful by way of an explanation. I will keep trying but only expect the worst.

With respect This Ramadan we should end the segregation of Women in the mosques. This was not a practice during the Prophets time. Women were not sectioned off to small tiny closets. You may say that Men are weak and this is to protect women.. but why should women suffer for Mens weakness? Ramadan Kareem
@aftabahmad86582 жыл бұрын
Ramadan Mubarak! As-selam alaykum warahmatullai wabarakatuhu... well Womens i think already allowed in mosque, in matter of segregation yes but women and men can't pray side by side, if it is one hall then 1st shaff is of men behind that children and behind that Women. There have to be 2 doors in mosque, one for men and 2nd for women and after prayer finished women are allowed to leave before men so to prevent mixing!...
