Ya Bro, Monterey pop freaked me out too. I must be a little older than you though because before that at thirteen I saw Jimi live at the Baltimore civic center. I was only thirteen. God bless my mother letting me go! I remember Purple Haze and Fire, but I am almost embarrassed to say that my main memory is that the concert was so loud it hurt. (If you practice safe listening you might not get hearing aids) This is one of my favorite Jimi songs. I hear Hindu strains in it and a spiritual depth. I have the tune from the album but hate to listen to all the stoner crap about space travelers. I am sure they had fun recording it but I really appreciate hearing the tune without that stuff. Thanks! Nice rendition. I have been learning the tune today.

Just when I thought I had already found all of the greatest Hendrix songs, this one hits me in the face like a train. Also, I’ve never seen a cover like this in my life…it’s incredible!! I hooe one day I’ll be on your skill level when it comes to recreating the Hendrix sound. Jimi would be proud my friend. Insane cover you guys!!! Amazing drumming and bass work as well!

Yeah Fran!! Still tearing it up and still the electric psychedelic maestro... You taught me some licks at McCabes back in the day.. The first song you showed me was B.B. King's The Thrill Is Gone.. You gotta get back out here and show us a few things..

Awesome video man!!! Can you please tell me a bit about your pedal board and the pedals you are using for the hendrix vibe. I can see that you are playing with the dan-electro echo what is you pedal chain like.
@franbanish
@franbanish 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Khurram Jawed! Thanks for the visit and good words! For the Hendrix vibe, I like the Roger Mayer Classic Fuzz. I wanna get an Axis Fuzz too ; ) I also like the Fulltone '69. I use Vox Clyde McCoy type wah-wahs. The Dan-echo has two mods: one I did, allowing the feedback control to go further and into oscillation, and other was an output buffer mod the FX Doctor did to improve the output level. When I need a modulation effect, like a Leslie, phaser, or Univibe, I use a Line 6 Blue Modulation Modeler. But I didn't use that on Third Stone here ; )

Hi, thanks for the inquiry. It started out as a Candy Apple Red 1965 with a rosewood board, I got as an 8th grade graduation present in 1978. The frets were totally worn out and I wanted a maple neck, so I put a Schecter neck on it for a while, and dressed it up as a '56-'57. When I was 16, I traded the body with a guitar repair man at Wooden Music in Chicago for his black '63 body. I had some different necks on it over the years and finally settled on this one, a Fender Custom shop '56, that's been played in, and recently refretted and re-finished by Chad Fitzpatrick. The intonation's great and it plays like butter! Whenever I'm at vintage guitar shops, I try the real '56's and '57's, and I've never played one better than mine. Lol. I love it! Every time I play it, it feels like Christmas. LOL
