PA stands for Physician Assistant, but our profession is in the middle of changing our name to Physician Associate. We are trained liked Doctors, but do not go to school as long as they do. In the United States, we diagnose, order labs/xrays, treat, and prescribe medicines.

I’m a chronic care RN that works for an excellent cardiology clinic for 3 years now and I LOVE cardiology. I’ve been a nurse for 17 yrs and this has always been my jam. This guy is spot on. We deal with mostly HF patients and monitoring effectiveness of BP and cardio meds, ect. For me there is nothing bettter❤️

So glad you liked it and found it helpful. Are you becoming a PA? If you haven't yet, don't miss the Electrophysiology interview too. Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5KxhWudgqepa7M. Also, I interviewed a PA who does courses on getting good at reading ECGs. She has many free sessions you can join, and then a more in-depth course for a fee. The video where I interviewed her about it can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3bUoaWHZZKFbJo. Best wishes on your journey into medicine!

Thank you for posting insight in the cardiology specialty. I will be applying to PA school next cycle and cardiology is a top interest of mine. I have a family health history of cardiovascular disease, so the cardiology specialty holds a personal connection to me. I can't wait to pursue medicine as a PA and maybe help patients with cardiovascular disease.

That’s great! Many people who have had personal or family experiences with health problems often go into medicine, and become excellent and passionate providers. I wish you all the best on your journey! By the way, I don’t know if you saw this video about electrophysiology, a related cardiology specialty. It may be of interest to you as well. I don't know if you are talking about me or the guest I am interviewing. We are both well-trained medical professionals, so why would it be terrifying?
