Can you please share the adapter you are using to mount the DSLR camera? I love this idea. I have a very lightweight webcam that I would like to mount to my desk. I love your video. Thanks a lot, Will.

I’m using an old manfrotto ball head but any tripod head will fit as it has a standard screw size. Best to choose a ball head that uses the same plate that you already use for your tripod (assuming you use one)

Great review but torn now between this and the PSA +1 especially as I have to buy two for me and guest for video podcast

Hey thanks! I don’t think you can go wrong with either but the Joby is slightly cheaper with not much, if any trade offs

in Poland we have similar (if not from the same factory) boom arm from budget brand called mozos model sb39 the only difference is that it doesn't have headphone and cup holder and price is lower around 44 dolars i don't think that it have different materials it pretty well made i have it myself and its probably the best value boom arm to buy

And it's digitus DA-20315 in Germany

@@WillChidlow If you do an image search you can find a lot of the same. Also, youtube does suggestions. I found the Joby Wavo, than youtube suggested IXTECH Valiant, but it's in the US. (Sensic SA-30 - again in the US, Alterzone ALZ-M2 in Japan) Than I found digitus DA-20315 in Germany. And than it's probably a LUMI MDS13-1 from China. And I'm sure, there are lot more of the same. In this day and age of information technology it's very easy to find a lot of things that were almost impossible to even think of some years ago.

This is wild. Here in canada, on amazon the joby wavo boom arm is over 200$ CAD wheras the RODE PSA1 Swivel Mount is just over $100. Now i dont know if the PSA1 is the same as the PSA+1 and obviously currency is different between countries but its a let down to see the joby being so expensive when it has all i want in a mic arm x.x it can rotate, it stays wherever you place it and all in all is a 10/10 looking mic arm but its way out of my price point atm

Yeah super weird what Joby are doing with the pricing of this book now, it’s a shame. FYI the PSA+1 is better and nice than the basic PSA

Does this arm support SM7B in term of weight?

Buttt... same price as the Elgato Wave Mic Arm (around 99 euro's over here in the Netherlands), i am using the LP one. Want the normal one as secondary so i can play around more lol.

Fair play, the Elgato arms do look pretty decent 👍🙏😎

is the mug cup holder removable?

Yes it is but you’ll also lose the headphone hook if that matters to you

I don't have a desk. I have a laptop and next to my bed is a metal shelving unit (the kind you would get from a hardware store) i am looking everywhere for a clamp that will mount to a pole. I find selves that attach to mic stands, i find fixed boom arms that clamp to mic stands... nothing that clamps to a bar the thickness of a mic stand, but NOTHING that has a good range of mobility with a mount that clamps to a bar.... i'm so frustrated.
@WillChidlow Жыл бұрын
Maybe a super clamp could be used?

This is more expensive than the Rode PSA and only £20 cheaper than the plus now…. Making this actually a very poor choice sadly
@WillChidlow Жыл бұрын
appears prices have changed since publishing, however I rate this over the PSA. The PSA+ is maybe a bit better but its debatable and a matter of preference. I think Joby should have dropped the price of their arm slightly not increased, then it would still be a good competitive alternative
@victorli5156 Жыл бұрын
Good price point, but the PSA+1 is definitely the better choice and stronger. Currently I have a mini tripod head and a canon RP with lens and mic attached to it.
