@@mrjagrown Hi, longtime JBP listener here! This episode was a "marker" for the podcast and hopefully not for their longtime friendships. In the episode when addressing the topic of their absences, Joe stated that after he essentially told Rory to "take time off," after what he expressed was a rough 6 weeks...Mal addressed him and the conversation with Mal did not go well! (Parks was a witness). Mal posed the question of how is it that Joe can force Rory to take that time off, along with whatever other issues/grievances. Joe also stated more than once on this episode how much Mal is a man of "principle" and a "standup guy." I hope that helps a bit!

He talks to people crazy and since they’ve known him for years they’re supposed to know he doesn’t mean it. Instead of taking accountability and stop talking to people the way he does, IF he does care about them! The narrative fits, he ruins everything before they meet the peak precipice. Called this after the Spotify rant episode and the moment it was obvious that Rory & Mal learned, in real time, the type of shit that Joe was turning down on their behalf. He basically told them then that they weren't his partners. You don't negotiate deals without your partners and then tell them about it when the cameras are on. Bossing up on Rory and then Mal realizing Joe would do the same to him were the last straws. The energy has been super weird since the end of that Spotify deal. Joe fucked his friends and supposed partners over and had them working overtime to fund his network that they had no equity in and then had the nerve to pull the boss card. Had them hustling backwards for less money to pay more people and fund your "vision". That's fucked up.

Everyone take this as a business lesson. When you got employee's that are essential to your business you better give them some ownership because sooner or later there gonna realize their worth and your business might never get that magic back
@Vat6ré3 жыл бұрын
Not even ownership,but as your biggest asset they need to feel important,Joes issue is his ego blurs that,and he disregards his assets importance,he should’ve let them have more input on their role in the Spotify deal,he should’ve spoken to Rory and mal off camera and heard their issues,and actually held himself accountable,he could still have complete ownership but he’s joe so that’s not possible
@shad86233 жыл бұрын
@@Vat6ré Based on some things that were said on the podcast during the spotify fiasco, it sounded like Joe was the only one having the deal discussions w/ spotify. Which was a huge red flag to me. There's four of them. The four of them should have been sitting down with spotify.

I think it’s crazy disrespectful for Joe to air his side of a private beef on a platform that all three of them built up, without the other two being able to state their sides, or even consenting to have their private beef aired out publicly.

He can say there is a disagreement that we are working through privately. When we are are ready to publicly address the beef, together, we will. In this episode Joe just said he isn’t a slave to the audience. Just cause you want the tea don’t make you entitled to anything.

Accountability. That’s what was missing here. Him saying he replayed previous episodes and Rory saying he was ready to throw hands... but WHY JOE?! It’s you. Constantly talking over them and thinking you’re right. Even here he says he’s tired of talking and asked Parks for his take and 2 seconds later he cuts him off and says “I can speak on that.” 😑
@TheCrypticJester3 жыл бұрын
that threw me off too tbh, but he's still got a point. the business started being talked about more than the friendship, rory was cutting him off and challenging him for like 6 weeks. Hes cut people off mid sentence from day one lmao, it is just like a relationship, the communication suffered, but super shout out to Mal for having Rory's back. Can't just let yall son Rory like that fr
