To Joes point Kendrick did make it a movie. He stayed silent and emotionless on social media. He asked Drake have you ever hunted down an opp with a poker face and proceeded to do just that. In “6:16in la” The man started out with a song repenting because he falls short and is preparing for war. In “Euphoria” he initially speaks like a therapist but some part of it is chilling because it gives a clear warning. He warns him that he’s predicting his moves and will hunt him down with a poker face so be sure to keep it friendly and quit while you’re ahead. In “Meet the grahams” the piano keys sound like the haunting steps of a k*ller referencing what he would do in euphoria. He pens letters to the victims family. It was creepy and immediately shifted the energy off of the hype ness of family matters into something dark and haunting like Michael Myers levels. And in “Not like us” he dances on the metaphorical grave. The drops were so well prepared he controlled the flow of energy that it became scary and people were begging for Drake to leave Kendrick. He made it a movie. Lol

This is it right here!!! I fully believe that when kendrick said he had 5 plus 5, he really did and was ready for anything Drake could throw at him, and Kendrick is versitile and creative in ways that Drake could never be. Kendrick wrote a narrative illustrated, a story, and painted an entire picture based solely on exactly what Drake asked for. Drake was his own fucking undoing. In a way, Kendrick was just a much better, a better rapper, more talented, well prepared, mirroring back everything Drake said and did himself.

Kendrick outrapped him since euphoria: - Electrify vs Pacify - I can predict your angles - Random acts of Kindness - Don’t tell no likes I won’t tell no truth - Let it get shaky… I’ll park yo son - What is it the braids? - First time I shot me a drac’ - YNW Melly line - Fuck Pushin P (Pharrell), Push a T - Whoopin’ Feet - Demon chipped by a throwaway - No accent you could sell me - I hate the way you … - I’M WHAT THE CULTURE’S FEELING - Better walk around like Daft Punk - Fuck a 20-v-1, this a 1-v-20 - Am I battling ghosts or AI - Croadie / cheesing fam bars - You take it there I’m taking it further And that’s without mentioning 6:16 in LA, meet the grahams or Not Like Us And without any of the “tea” or potential lies that only came out after drake mentioned family. Even after drake mentioned Whitney in Push Ups Kendrick still didn’t go there in euphoria and gave him ANOTHER chance to keep it just rap. There’s no universe where anyone with common sense genuinely thinks Drake outrapped Kendrick this week in any way, shape or form.
@hellonation337 ай бұрын
Agreed. I love the both of them but I am surprised that people say Kendrick Lamar won off tea. Drake whole strategy was to beat Kendrick lamar by revealing tea to assassinate Kdots character. Other than tea. Alot of people missed the layers of detail to each cover art, beat selection, producers selection, bars, and strategy that Kendrick lamar had. Drake strategy never changed from the start. Family Matters was always intended to be the knockout blow. Unfortunately, Drake never studied his opponent, took kdot seriously, or listened to his music. I believe Drake doesn't understand the appeal of Kdot and he need Ego death.
@christianthane14827 ай бұрын
The COVER ART having us like 😱💀. But yeah I agree, Kendrick outdid him in every aspect of it. I love Back to Back and I was hoping for Drake to come with some fire after euphoria cuz push ups was light to me, and he definitely did with Family Matters 100%. But stepping on it with meet the grahams 20 mins later and completely making Family Matters not relevant to me at all anymore was the knockout blow. Drake spent time and a budget making that video thinking it was the nuke and Kendrick took the Taylor Made bait, but it didn’t matter after those 20 mins. They’re so right in this video about how MTG completely changed the tone of this whole thing, the strategy of that move was insane. I’m still amazed at surgical move of the immediate drop, the shift with the production, the lyrics of that song being so direct. The fact that he said “why believe you, you never gave us nothing to believe in” and elaborating on that, showing us why ppl are naturally inclined to think Drake is lying due to his history of it rather than Kendrick is insane.

Ish not knowing the difference between a calculated lie and an uneducated assumption is wild. Joe said they don’t have a problem with the lies, but it has to be believable to have impact. If you lie about something that easily proven false, you discredit yourself. Drake not understanding Mother I Sober and making an entire argument based the misunderstanding is embarrassing (on top of cringe because how do you mock someone for being a victim on a track where you’re trying to prove you’re not a perpetrator). It’s embarrassing because it makes him look one of 3 ways to those who did understand the song: 1. He didn’t bother to do the research before he wrote those bars, 2. He DID do the research but wasn’t smart enough to understand it, or 3. He didn’t even write it and it’s his writer who messed up. If it was his writer who messed up then that would mean this mf is just a talking head who doesn’t have his own voice. He just takes the words and raps instead of checking them and making sure they’re valid.

Lying is absolutely on the table. This is also why the “it was a false leak” defense doesn’t hold up. Why would drake feed a lie that is believable because it happened before? This is rap beef, it’s not journalism.
@ktownshutdown215 ай бұрын
Another thing about it is your delivery. One aspect about the beef that I think is a little under discussed is just how much better a performer Kendrick is. Funny how despite Drake being the former actor, it was KDot that was the better one. Drake's "red button" about Whitney in Family Matters is a last minute zinger, almost in a smug "Tee Hee, Gotcha 😌" kind of way, thinking that it was his final Ta-da and he could take a bow for all his adoring fans. He's putting on a show. But in Meet the Grahams, Kendrick is *DEAD FUCKING SERIOUS* about everything he's saying, and regardless if he's bullshiting or not, you still feel like HE believes every single venomous word he's spewing at Drake. Then of course there's THP6 where Drake just sounds exhausted from huffing a ton of copium in a mad scramble to save face at the last minute, nowhere near as confident in himself as he started out.

Drake took it there. Kendrick said not to go there and let this be a friendly fade, so all the deep, tough, pedo stuff and family stuff was his doing. So it's all fair after he was warned not to.
@richardray26807 ай бұрын
making it a friendly fade would mean it's all about who can rap. Drake knew he couldn't win that battle.

Watching Joe explain this to Ish was like being in Eng lit and watching a professor try their best to explain to that one student who never gets it. Yes, there’s others perspectives but there’s usually one popular consensus for a reason.

ISH is looking like co-captain of Drake's glazing club, pause, along with AK the captain of that club. I don't know why ISH is defending Drake so much by giving counter narratives for Drake's defence.
