I watch these lessons by Joe every so often, not because I’m a musician, I’m not, but because Joe is such a great teacher that even a non-musician who loves music like me can just soak up all these tips and musical wisdom. What a gift to mankind Joe Satriani is. Wow.

Joe is a brilliant teacher. And he's imo possibly the complete all-rounder guitarmaster around today! He can play fast or slow whenever he wants to..and his melodic shred is so beautiful sounding and so inspiring every time we listen to any of his songs. His touch..feel..excellent command of different techniques..his awesome myriad of tones and all those crazy otherworldly-sounding soundscapes that he creates is so fascinating and mesmerizing to our senses. Thank you eternally Joe Satriani! Keep on rocking and shredding!😎😊🎸🤘🤘🤘❤Eternally glad I watched him live in 2014 in my hometown of Singapore! 😎🤘🤘🤘❤

Joe is not just an amazing musician, he's an amazing person. He's kind, thoughtful, considerate, humble yet knows his worth, he's wise. I think he adds joy to people's lives on and off the stage.

This might sound odd but vibrato is as difficult as alternate picking as far as mastering a specific technique goes
@Darkgl4ss6 жыл бұрын
Ken T You are definitely right there dude, a lot of people tend to over bend or wiggle the vibrato to much.
@gab.lab.martins6 жыл бұрын
I think it is THE most difficult technique to really master. Some people (seem) natural, but the majority of players, even some high-end, revered blokes, sound whimpy and/or generic. I mean, look at SRV, the guy was bending and vibrating notes with .013 strings (in Eb!) and sounding awesome whilst doing so. Throw that onto your average .008 shredder and see how it goes.
@cuauhtemocmorisco34936 жыл бұрын
Ken T out of all the guitarist BB King had the best vibrato ever.
@quix995 жыл бұрын
Its not hard at all..just feel it out. When you are grabbin that note, what do yoy feel and what does it call for? Its your intuition at that moment in time..
@sangal6664 жыл бұрын
I think, alternate picking doesn't even stand close to a goosebump vibrato ( with the whole range - BB Kind - Zakk Wylde ) in terms of difficulty. Same goes for the gains from it.

Damn right about The Beatles, "when the rain comes" is very out of tune but sounds strangely beautiful.. Joe Satriani will never have a ball to try to play like that though 😁

They have their mansions, private jets, and more money than they know what to do with, have been playing for 100s of thousands live for decades touring all across the globe. I'm sorry, I don't know of all your accomplishments that earn you the right to critize any member of Metallica. May be you are Dave Mustaine himself, so plz pardon my ignorance.
@bryanwchambers97343 жыл бұрын
Anyones has the right to like or dislike whatever they want and to make a joke about it as well. I happen to like Metallica and have and great respect for them. I was making a jab at Kirk's vibrato.

I don't k ow what to think all the players I grew up idolizing were not great technical players like page and Perry so on it the songs were most important it's all about what your I to I guess

Learning vibrato while playing Metallica... just don't imitate Kirk's parkinson's disease style. Joe should have really hammered the point with Kirk.
