Thanks for this interview, Joe was one of my favorite Kirby inkers, Joe Sinnott & Mike Royer were my other two. I got to meet Joe at the New York Comic-Con where he was nice enough to sign a Star Spangled Comics #19 from 1943 of mine, I never got to meet Jack Kirby but it was an honor to meet the other giant of the Simon & Kirby team.

The multiple corporations was a way to keep any bankruptcies localized; if mag 1 owes money to the printer, it is a different corp and put it in bankruptcy. They do that is real estate, too, where each building is owned by a separate corp.

After going to every SanDiegoCon for a decade (1985-1995) I met most everyone in comic books. But Simon somehow escaped me. I was always impressed that he was both a writer and artist. Until I saw this video, though, I didn't realize that he could also do such a good impression of comedian Jackie Vernon.
