So I tried KZbin's new premiere function with this video earlier, and it was pretty cool. It was like a livestream, with a live chat. The only problem is, people didn't get properly notified of the video because of it, so once that was done, the video hadn't been sent out properly to you. Therefore, I've reuploaded it. Hope you like it!

I swear hes definitely pronouncing it two different ways. Like "CARamel" and "caraMEL", you're putting the stress on a different syllable. Swedish is a language that puts more emphasis on what stress a word has, changing vowel and consonant length and pitch accent, so it is logical that Teo can easily tell the difference.
@FWaldemar6 жыл бұрын
The Difference is so obvious
@devynmaxwell43106 жыл бұрын
With this type of logic I can change how any part of how the word sounds and say there's 30 different ways people say caramel
@treo12306 жыл бұрын
I can say it because it's an obvious thing in Spanish... with the accents. For example, you can say "estrépito" (this one's the correct), but also if you put the accent in other vocal is like this "éstrepito" (like if you put a more laud voice in the "e")... or you can say "estrepitó", this one's like if the word was a verb an you conjugated in past
@FWaldemar6 жыл бұрын
Well, actually there’s only 3 ways to pronouns caramel
@MrWagermajor6 жыл бұрын
@devyn maxwell not true, this type of logic works on syllables. Since there's only three, he can differentiate the stress on three parts of the word. So the only way the word sounds different is if you stress a different part of the word, which is three times max.

its a thing in english too though so idk why so many people struggle with it. Theres a veRY obVIOUS differENCE in words if you change the emPHAsis of cerTAIN words. Most obvious examples are words with both a noun and verb meaning, like REcord and reCORD, the emphasis is on the start of the word if its the noun meaning and end for verb

It's intonation though, not pronunciation as far as I'm aware. Its like mandarin has 4 tones for each word, each meaning a different thing. Plus Swedish has 9 vowels, a e i o u plus å. ä, and ö + y so you can understand were Teo's coming from with the subtle variations in Swedish. Should make Teo do some of the Swedish tongue twisters to demonstrate how similar it is. There's on about Gustav grilling pigs which is hilarious.

TEOS RIGHT. It's called word stress. CARamel and caraMEL are not different words by definition, but they are different by how they sound. My brother and I talk about this all the time with words like "bell pepper." Do you say "BELL pepper" or "bell PEPPER"
@Sagnak916 жыл бұрын
emphasizing a different part of a word doesnt change its pronunciation
@puggerinos6 жыл бұрын
@@Sagnak91 Pronounce: to enunciate or articulate (sounds, words,sentences, etc.). So to change the sound of a word is to change it's pronunciation, right? And stressing different syllables affects how the word sounds so that is a different pronunciation, right?
@Sagnak916 жыл бұрын
You may be right but I'm not convinced, I've always known pronunciation to be the quality of the sound, (basically how you shape your mouth for the correct formants). I don't think your bell pepper example has to do with pronunciation, its just emphasis. If you said, "Bell Peeper" you'd be pronouncing it wrong.
