I heard this crazy hypothetical once in my psychology class: An angry paraplegic who hates trains is strapped to a rail fitted wheelchair and is currently trying to destroy trains in the train yard. This rabid cripple is armed with a blowtorch, and is headed right towards an immobile train with 5 cars. You are in front of a switch that will redirect this diabolical disablee to a train with only one car. Do you... A. Let the cripple carve their way through 5 cars and take no responsibility. B. Redirect the cripple to the train with one car, but live with wheel grease stained on your hands for the rest of your life. Choose wisely.

@@dopaminecloud the point of it's usual format, the trolley problem, is that you can skip over the absurd complexity of moral decision making and coax an easy answer into existence: Does this person think that inaction absconds them from responsibility. Very important for any form of first responder job, where people with... limited moral initiative... need to be filtered out. It's critically relevant that trying to evade the binary part of the question with hypotheticals like "but what if one track is full of serial killers" falls under inaction.
