I love this lad so much. Beautiful beautiful game, I couldn't care less if he's not explosive or athletic or can't jump 6 inches. Every sport has a few chosen ones who the sport slows down for - and basketball slows down for him. It is surreal to behold. The only complaint I have is that he didn't win regular season MVP. Last season would have been a perfect season if he had, but hey Embid whined his way to the MVP, and whined his way out of the playoffs.

Nikola Jokic is beloved in Serbia and Denver. I’m happier the Nuggets became first time NBA champions as he average a triple double in the playoffs with points, rebounds and assists. We watched his whole family came to Denver just to watch him play.

People will always hate on Jokic cause of his alleged glaring lack of "atheletcism" and "defense" Of course they'll do, cause if they admit Jokic's anomalous existence, it'll impliedly make them say players who have less to no defense and athleticism can thrive in sports. This somehow begs the argument tho. While Jokic's physical attributes may not live up to their standards, he has, by his own right, been in peak shape and less of a defensive liability he projectedly is supposed to be. For if jokic really was unathletic, he couldn't have capped off playing the almost whole 48mins of every game, he couldn't even last overtime, or suit up for most of the season's games. More so, he shouldn't be able to post-up the way he does against "athletic" players.. Despite his "non-chiselled" "fat" physique, he has taken best care of his health in the 8 seasons he's been in the league, and might still even not reached his peak. Despite his lack of explosiveness, he has been able to hold his ground in defense - exploiting the supposed schemes to expose him being a liability. Won't forget that analysts were laughing the Suns just gonna pick and roll switch spam against joker, or that Gobert/Ayton/AD just gonna bulldoze their way against him... If anything, jokic be the one most aware of his flaws and weaknesses, that he is able to turn these exploits to his advantage and ultimately for the team's benefit. This may show, and prove, how crazy Jokic as a superstar player is. Still, if you stay hate jokic. You're free to express so. Consequently, hope we also be given the right to express respecting and admiring Jokic the player he is and the impact he has given to the game. === Great narrative btw.
