But he did what they told him to do and stayed between the lines with his acting chops, and now they're regretting it for sure. He could have done much better, had he gotten a fair share of the creativity pie. But as I understand it, no actors had hardly any control over their lines at all.

It really is spot on. A voice very close to Mark Hamill's, the appearance of the Man Who Laughs -style Joker and the body language. This kind of Joker would treat Ledger's Joker like a Gaggy and Nicholson's Joker like Bob the henchman, because it's closer to the source.

Even years later, it still gets me that Aaron is fully capable of NAILING Mark Hamill Joker in every way, and on top of that has his own distinct spin on the Joker for his Batman projects. The City of Scars Joker is amazing on his own, but the fact that he can do a rich and authentic feeling Hamill Joker but simply chooses not to most of the time just underscores his incredible talent.
