@KalinaHitanaVTuber5 жыл бұрын
There's one major part to Pennywise's rap that I've only seen 1 person actually recognize. And that's the whole bit referring to the Cask of Amontillado. That refers to a short story written by Edgar Allen Poe in which the main focus is around a guy called Montressor (which Pennywise refers to himself as) retelling a story about how he murdered a jester called Fortunado (both of which he calls Joker). And the way he murders the guy is by chaining him to a small niche in a catacomb wall and then sealing it up with brick and mortar (hence the whole part about sealing Joker up like the Cask of Amontillado). Which is also a nice bit of callback considering we had Edgar Allen Poe and Steven King against each other in a previous ERB

On top of that there's another twist to that line, he's implying Skarsgard is in Arkham and will admit joker killed IT to get out. Thus saying he framed the actor for killing the character (is also kind of an obtuse rebuttal to the casting lines about jared leto.

"You stole that from H.P. Lovecraft" is a great line that nobody seems to get. It's a bit weaker when you think about the canon of each. Pennywise has woken 10 times, with some of those being massacres of hundreds, others being far smaller. All told, he killed somewhere on the order of 500 people that we're told about. The Joker, however, is more complicated. Depending on the continuity and which of the three Jokers (recent revelation in the main canon), The Joker has either killed 0 people (one of the three Jokers that seems to correlate with the silly prankster version like Caesar Romero's), a few dozen (various iterations of The Joker), several hundred (main continuity, lower estimate), a little over a thousand (main continuity, upper estimate), tens of millions (Injustice), billions (The Batman Who Laughs), or trillions (Emperor Joker). The references here are all to main continuity, whether through movies, cartoons or comics, so it's actually relatively close with Joker's low estimate being around 600 to Pennywise's estimated 500.

"Shining man" also refers to Jack Nicholson cuz he was in The Shining and also played Joker. The 99 red balloons line is actually referencing the song by Nena - 99 luftballons which was in German. It was remade into the song "99 Red Balloons" in English. Y'all missed the "I go Mark Ham with ILL zingers" bar. Mark Hamill plays the joker in the Batman animated series. He also says it in the Mark Hamill voice perfectly. Also another reference to Jack Nicholson when he says "It pales, like the moonlight you can dance with the Devil in". Nicholson's joker says "You ever dance with the Devil in the pale moonlight?" before he kills people "Ask Robin if I drop bars" is another dope double. In the comics, Joker almost kills Robin by bludgeoning him with a crowbar. Therefore "drop BARS" and "drop bars" in rap battles... Hard as hell! He drops a double with "I take smiles and I leave SCARS, GUARDS at Arkham will admit that the Joker just killed IT". Bill Skarsgard plays Pennywise in the new IT so he's saying he's gonna leave scars on "Skarsgards" in Arkham as well as the GUARDS agreeing to that fact. He also drops a Tim Curry name twist with "Tim Scurry". Tim Curry played IT in the older movie and he's gonna wreck Pennywise so fast, he'll be SCURRYING (hurrying scared) down the sewer. I think Joker killed IT in this one. It was close but yeah...Joker takes this one by a lot of bars.

I don't really see how it not being a ninja is hitting very hard. It's like being an ant and being stomped on by a dragon and someone saying "lol, it wasn't even a pitbull" like, yea pitbull are fierce creatures but come on. Except the IT movies didn't actually sink, so it's not that hard of a bar. Also the Shining bar is referencing Jack Nicholson for playing both the Joker and the lead in The Shining The Dairy Maine attraction is a double pun, feast/dairy (dairy as in the place and a food) and Maine/attraction (Maine as the place and "primary") And I think you missed the Edgar Allan Poe bars at the end but otherwise you kinda cough them all I think. Very well done. For me Pennywise took it. The content was pretty much dead even but the delivery and intricacies of Pennywise were waaay better, layers upon layers upon layers. Take the "John Doe in my deadlights" with these facts in mind. >The Joker is an incognito, an unknown man. >Deadlights is an actually thing in IT that pretty much means "youre dead before you know it" (making you a John Doe if you're an unknown person) >A Doe is also a Deer >"A deer in the headlights" meaning you won't see it coming which bridges the deer and the John Doe as there both dead, they just don't know it yet. *ALL* that condensed to a 7 word sentence, friggin insane. It's like a friggin bar-onion man. Damn the ERB guys went into some hardcore wordsmithing with this.

At the bar joker just killed it he refers to "the killing joke"" so the joker called 'it' a joke, the arkham guards said the joker killed it in bars, and the joker plain killed it that, was a 3 in 1 burn
