A stupid joke card that I've always found hilarious is Convulsion of Nature. It's a simple effect of "flip the deck upside-down" so both sides can see what they are drawing into. Thats it...it literally does nothing else, and its great and sometimes I would put in decks for the hell of it.

Fun fact about heroic gift: I used to run this card against duel links legendary duelists, so I could meet requirements to level up (lots of damage, lots of turns, etc) it actually worked pretty well all things considered.

Gift of Greed was occassionally used alongside Heavy Slump (a trap which shuffles your opponent's hand into the deck and they draw 2, if they have 8+ cards in their hand). So you go first, set up the combo, pass turn, they draw for turn, you activate Gift of Greed and then Heavy Slump to handloop them down to 2 cards. If you think about it, that combo is half-way inbetween Gumblur loops from Gouki format and D.D Dynamite with Banquet of Millions from Master Duel. You need 2 Normal Traps set to your field, by turn's end. It certainly catches people by surprise in game 1.

Actually, magical mallet would be much better for that purpose, since it lets you select any number of cards that you want to return to the deck. Plus, you get to draw cards equal to the amount of cards you returned to the deck afterwards. Even reload has pot of generosity beat. These cards aren't meta defining cards either.

Every time I look at jokes cards like Cold Feet I think, "Man, I wish there were more cards that had weird jank like Mystical Refpanel. I also wish that Konami could figure out how the hell Mystical Refpanel works because I don't think it's even possible to consistently determine what can or can't be Refpaneled." Technically Nurse didn't get a name change, just that the localization staff translated "Fallen Angel" to "Fallen One" because they were afraid of using the word "Angel" and at the same time there were the "Fallen Angel" cards that a manga character used that they translated as "Darklord" and only like ten years later when "Fallen Angel" became a real archetype did they realize they had to align the names. Personally I think the only reason they went with "Darklord" is because there would be less cards that would need to have a name change, "Fallen One" sounds oh so much better.

Localized Tornado was part of a stall deck in Duel links where it was paired with a skill that let you start the duel with only 1 hand card but you draw 2 each draw phase. It stalled the opponent til they deck out, using tornado to recycle their stuff if the deck goes too low and continue. Yeah… It was annoying.

Localized Tornado was actually very useful in duel links with a skill from kalin kessler. It had him draw two cards instead of one each turn, but start with no cards. You made a deck completely out of stall cards which have you throw away cards combined with this to recycle everything again. Why do I say it was useful? Because they nerfed the skill so that you could only use it if you had a deck from only infernity cards, making localized tornado as useless as in the tcg.

I used to run localized tornado in an old 60 card stall deck. Many times my opponent and I would both be down to only a few cards left in our decks, and I'd use it to avoid decking out first. Of all the cards on this list, it's probably the only one that actually made a lot of people scoop when it was activated.

Localized Tornado is used in Final Countdown so that you don't deck yourself after setting up. You set up whatever lock you decided to use, play Final Countdown, and then if you have less than 10 cards left in your deck you play Localized Tornado and now you can just sit there for 20 player turns (or 10 game turns, since Final Countdown doesn't specify that it only counts your turns or your opponent's).

For True Exodia there is an anime Spell card that can summon it to your opponent's field. Called Illegal Summon: Each player chooses 1 Level 4 or lower monster from their Deck and Special Summons it to their opponent's side of the field. Your opponent chooses the battle positions of these monsters. That Spell can be useful to give your opponent a detrimental card or a card that can help you like Arcanna Force 0 The Fool onto your opponent's field. Also, there's a way for Calming Magic to work if you have the anime Continous Spell Card called Spell Sanctuary that makes every Spell a Quick-Play so you can set it and activate it during your opponent's turn to shut them down. As an added bonus when Spell Sanctuary is first activated it lets both players add one Spell from their Deck to their hand so you can add Calming Magic if you don't have it or you know add a better card.

Fun fact, I used Localized Tornado in a busted-ass anime lightsword deck. It used card of desperation to mill the whole 60 card deck. Combo off with EVERYTHING AT ONCE. And then use localized tornado to reset everything for the next turn. With a board full of synchros and backrow disruption. Shit was fun.

Alright, some ideas for joke versions of the Unholy Trio of Goat Format that didn't already get joke versions: Delusional Duo: Spell/Normal Spell Discard 1 card: Your opponent discards one card from your hand, chosen at random. Asset Seizure: Spell/Normal Spell: Gain 1000 LP. Show your hand to your opponent: Your opponent picks one card from your hand and discards it.

See it is really funny, Nurse Reficule has always been a Darklord in the OCG. Nurse Reficule's name in the OCG is "Fallen Angel Nurse - Reficul", and Darklords are actually called Fallen Angels over there, so them changing Nurse Reficule to a Darklord in DESO is just them fixing a localization mess-up they made eons ago (similar to how they changed Frog the Jam to Slime Toad). It's also the same reason why Marie the Fallen One is now a Darklord, her name in the OCG is " Fallen Angel Marie" so they also changed that one to match too.

You can be in a situation where you have less then 5 cards left and your opponent has 20 (maybe they are running a 60 card deck. You put this face down pass turn get all your cards back then continue flipping that jar

heroic gift can counter dinomorphia. when your level 5 monster dies, you can use Level Resist Wall to summon True Exodia and the 4 pieces, and then your opponent wins, since a Conditional effect can't be negated. but they won't win if they have a monster on their field, so you can maybe creature swap True Exodia to the opponent, and then find some way to get rid of the monster you took from them, like playing offerings to the doomed on it, or linking up to Unicorn spin itself.

Unfortunate Report and iirc Weather Control are solely responsible for the "each" battle phase wording. Stuff like Battle Mania, Berserk Gorilla, and Ultimate Tyranno have a funny almost Mirror-Force/Cylinder type of cheese factor if you're able to flex with them. I love seeing an opponent deal a finishing blow to themselves. Gets me every time.

Also, An Unfortunate Report can actually be a good card. It's a bit hard to explain properly, but any deck that relies on forcing the opponent into attacking to win (which quite honestly isn't a lot) can use it, since it basically says "force the opponent to attack twice" Like the funniest use case I ever had with that card was with the Crime & Punishment deck on DevPro. I had set up both Embodiment of Crime and Embodiment of Punishment, used the effect of one, then flipped up An Unfortunate Report and won as a result. Now granted that deck isn't particularly good, but if Konami ever does make a good deck that can force attacks to win, then this card could show up in a few lists.

The only way I can see "Heroic Gift: being somewhat more usable in a deck format is with Time Rulers since like most of their monsters have either burn, big damage or just straight-up cut your opponents Life Points in half. And they're easy to get out too, so it kinda works? 💀

For a little while I used Localized Tornado back when Endymion came out. You know those Tempest FTK decks that burn through your deck in one turn thanks to Library and a bunch of Spells drawing cards and Spell Counter accumulation? Well, pre-errata Exchange of the Spirit was banned so if the opponent veilered Tempest I had to not lose to deckout and try again next turn (it's not like I had any hand left anyways) so there's that xD Calming Magic is a Cold Wave for monsters but it being slow suuuuucks. The theory is that we had at least 3 very widespread quick Summons in the format back then: Tragoedia, Gorz, and Battle Fader.... of course it still depended on you haveing a pre-established field that somehow the opponent left alone the previous turn and in no era of the game was this a common enough scenario so the card was dead weight. An Unfortunate Report I guess could work with those cards that say "your opponent has to attack if able" and you happened to have a super big monster like a 16,000 ATK Cyber End Dragon or something so the opponent had to crash.... although in that already unlikely case they'd still lose all their monsters via battle by the end of the first battle phase, adding an extra layer of pointless complexity to succeeding in a combo with this card. Still there is some semblance of purpose.

Calming magic would be useful after you summon what you want on your turn, and then if your opponent has any monsters with special summoning trigger effects on the field during the battle phase you would essentially stop things like Trisha zero from being able to use their effects.

Unfortunately, just like Pot of Extravagance, the card specifies that it can only be used at the very start of Main Phase 1, so it can't be used on the same turn that you set up your board. Otherwise, you're completely right that it would screw over archetypes with summon effects that trigger during the battle phase, like Dragonmaids.

Actually localized tornado helps in duel link with yosinju. I had a problem of decking out So I added that and my opponent thought he won when I was on my last draw. Him with maybe 2-4 cards left or ether none and watching hope fleet as I flip that card. A full deck and a new draw with some set cards already set from Last turn.

Disclaimer: This is not a troll comment, it's devil's advocacy from someone who was playing in the LOB days and got out around the time when Elemental Heroes were new. I have a memory of the game being much slower. I remember in a time long ago in the ancient past, there was Bait Doll that targeted an opponent's backline facedown and tried to force it to activate if it was a trap. If the timing was wrong or didn't meet requirements, like Trap Hole or Magic Cylinder, it fizzled. If a card like that ever entered meta again, I could potentially see use for Cold Feet seeing as it would prevent your stuff from activating. I could also see an argument for effects that already exist that you don't want to trigger that turn for some reason. Also, it can combo with Mystical Refpanel to cause your opponent to get the effect instead. It's a lot of leg work to make a joke card even see niche use, but it does still have a niche use.

If heroic gift was a quick play spell card it would probably see play when certain decks are meta. If the decks use life points to gain advantage or can win if they have their life points at a certain value below 2000: then this becomes a counter card that gives you +1. As a side deck piece it would have potential. But it's not and there aren't decks like that right now.
