I'll never forget the evening in Montago Bay in the 90th when these group came to the hotel and played the unforgettable Jamaica Music. These men had so much fun to play and to give us a feeling of their Island. I remenber the friendly people, the millions of stars , the sound of the waves , the warm temperatures when I listen to the POP 'N'MENTO-MC

Chris Pearson yes thats surely andy kershaw as far as i can tell although the guy who rus the mento website is also named Mike so i do wonder if he is also from Lancs! Hmm.. must ak about that one, interesting bit of film dated 1989 on credits. Their is a documentary about the Jolly Boys which was made not that long ago but not sure if we'll see a released over here or what, waiting on news but im sure we will if it gets released, it was to be a TV series to start with and not sure if it ended up as that or just a one off doc, unsure... i think it started as a documentary but as the band became so popular due to Ricks input i guess they toured worldwide and it was all captured on film which i think became the subject of the series, just speculating! but i think thats how it happened... i always post news online when here anything relevant... www,reggaefilmsarchives.co.uk if i can remember my password to update!! Very nice to see this video posted, the band established in 1945 i think, thats one amazing success story if ever i heard one. The amy whitehouse thing was a great idea to brand them as a band in todays market. Educating the masses about Mento!! can only be good right..
