How does it compare to the ultra mind expander ? I have an aviator 2.0, I love the edge hold on groomers and for hard packed days with the aviator. Now I’m looking for something to go with it that’s better in pow but will still do ok on the rest of the mountain when it’s tracked out. Id like it to be as nimble as possible as I like the trees too. I’m sort of deciding between this and the ultra me. Love the channel, always informative Many thanks

The biggest difference you'll find in the ride of the Ultra is that it is much stiffer so you have to be riding aggressively more often. If you want to ride hard but be laid back once in a while maybe just get the standard Mind Expander

Hello, thank you very much for the review, I really liked the Mind Expander, what size would you recommend for freeride with my characteristics? 168cm, 70kg and 40.5 boot? Thank you very much for the help.

From 20/21, the base has been downgraded from a 9900 to a 8000. From this year the profil has changed from flat/rocker to camber/rocker and the stance moved forward 20mm, making it more verstatil with better edge hold. I am scared that the magic the original Mind Expander has in deep powder and tight trees has been distrupted. Why make it looks like the Ultra MInd Expander?

It will be a little different from the original Mind Expander, but I think what made this board fun in deep powder and trees has more to do with the width, taper, and sidecut. It will still have the mind expander magic, just with a little more power behind it

You would be correct in my opinion. I feel like Jones did this due to high demand for more edge control with the Mind Expander (base model). I would think they definitely know about the overlap to the Ultra M.E, but I feel like they will be eliminating either the camber in the base M.E and returning to flat to Rocker, then taking the M.E twin away. Or keeping the camber in the M.E base and keeping the M.E Twin for a more Rocker feel, and eliminating the Ultra Mind Expander. I do agree however the ultimate magic of the Mind Expander was the profile and shape. This new profile will change performance for better edge hold on groomers and sacrifice for sure the agility trees and pow turns. Still will float well and be a great board, but I 100% understand what you're trying to say.

How would this compare to the storm wolf as an all around carving/powder board?
@SearchofSnowboarding
@SearchofSnowboarding Жыл бұрын
They are both going to be great for that style of riding. The Storm Wolf is going to be just a little stiffer so it will hold up more when charging hard
